That’s Africa Travel & Incentives’ weekly meet up found us enjoying lunch at Spier Wine Estate. With 2 restaurant choices and a farm café to choose from, we decided on lunch at the hotel restaurant which has an extensive menu option to suit all tastes and moods. Of course to top off the experience, we accompanied our fine meal with a bottle of Spier’s Signature Chenin Blanc.

Work matters were discussed (of course ;-)), but more importantly seeing each other on a weekly basis maintains our strong relationship and team spirit.

We look forward to seeing you soon in South Africa!

The list of high, medium and low-risk countries was issued by the South African government on the 30 September 2020, in preparation of the reopening of borders to international travellers to South Africa beginning the 01 October 2020.

Those on the high-risk list will not be permitted as yet into the country, while travellers from medium- and low-risk countries may travel to South Africa for any reason, and will not be placed into a mandatory quarantine on arrival.

The list will be reviewed every two weeks and changes may occur considering the infection rates of the various countries.

The additional requirements to enter into South Africa will include:

- A PCR test no older than 72 hours from the time of departure from your country of departure. The test must be conducted by a certified medical practitioner, and the certificate which must be presented on arrival will need a name and signature of the practitioner

- Travel insurance will be required by all visitors

If a traveller arrives without a certificate, an invalid certificate or presenting symptoms of COVID, they will be put into mandatory 10-day quarantine at a government-approved facility, at their own expense.

The wait is finally over!

South Africa will officially open its borders for International travellers on the 01 October 2020!

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on the 16th September that International flights can resume from the 01 October 2020 at the 3 major airports namely, Cape Town International Airport, OR Tambo International Airport and King Shaka International Airport.

All passengers will be required to present the negative result of a PCR test, taken no longer than 72 hours prior to departure.

A list of the low-risk countries permitted to enter South Africa is due to be released by the government. We will keep you posted!

Namibia is opening its borders for international travel on the 01 September 2020!

Tourism minister Pohamba Shifeta announced this Tuesday, - “the new implementation protocols guiding the international tourism revival initiative”. These protocols will come into effect on the 01 September 2020 which allows the re-opening of Hosea Kutako International Airport to international tourists.

With the highly anticipated reopening of Namibia, one can only be positive and excited for the new possibilities for travel!
Namibia’s landscape offers travellers vast open spaces and topography that constantly changes as you travel between the various areas. Surreal is a word that should come to mind when you think of Namibia – why not start planning for your surreal holiday……

Streetwires is a collective of artists who produce beautiful, handcrafted wire and bead art. That’s Africa Travel & Incentives has been supporting Streetwires for many years, gifting clients with various beadwork art (e.g. Streetwires keyrings that are provided in your travel document folder).

Streetwires has launched a campaign in order to raise money to pay their artists a stipend for the next 3 months as they are unable to work during lockdown.
