About 4.5 years ago we connected with Mark and Paulien Enrieu of Speekhout Farm in Baviaanskloof. The couple were fairly new to the area, having uprooted from Johannesburg to embark on a courageous farming journey in a wild, remote and pretty unforgiving landscape. We've visited Speekhout several times since, and it's become a place we hold very close to our hearts. The rustic farm accommodation really vibes with us❤️. We've always stayed in their flagship 'Tree House' accommodation (yes, it's a proper fully- equipped house in a tree!) and we absolutely love it.
On our recent filming trip, we decided to stay in the 4-sleeper open-plan Klipspringer Cottage, a cosy and colourful abode that we felt right at home in. The garden, full of interesting nooks, crannies and beautiful mountain views (+ a very welcome splash pool!) is gorgeous.
Paulien's artistic touch and attention to detail are evident in all parts of the cottage. Here's a short walk-through video of Klipspringer Cottage and surrounds 📹.
Be sure to book a stay at Speekhout Farm when you venture into Baviaanskloof 👌🏡❤️. You won't be sorry!

The best way to kick start our Tracks4Africa filming day is to hop into our orange matchbox (on wheels) and head into a mountain pass!
Today's early morning adventure took us into the incredibly scenic Voortrekker Pass, from Louvain Guest Farm.
Boy oh boy! The views of the majestic Outeniqua Mountains, the skies, the vegetation and the fresh air were all so exhilarating! Postcard perfect👌!
We'll be showcasing this beautiful pass (with cinematic drone footage) in Episode 2 of Season 3 in the Tracks4Africa YouTube channel mini-series.
Coming soon! 👀📹
Part of our filming itinerary for the Tracks4Africa YouTube mini-series (Season 3: Episode 2, incoming) took us into the lesser known Gamkaberg Nature Reserve (part of Cape Nature). This hidden gem is set between Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn in the Klein-Karoo and is featured in the Tracks4Africa Cape to Addo paper map series. Early this morning Jimny Cricket 'owned' the exceptionally beautiful Lawson's Pass in the Gamkaberg Nature Reserve 😉. Not for the faint-hearted! The pass is worth every slow (and steep) inch of the journey to the breathtakingly beautiful viewing point 👌📸⛰️
