The Valley of Vision
I remembered you, Lord, and my prayer rose to you. Jonah 2:7
The Puritan prayer “The Valley of Vision” speaks of the distance between a sinful man and his holy God. The man says to God, “Thou hast brought me to the valley of vision . . . ; hemmed in by mountains of sin I behold Thy glory.” Aware of his wrongs, the man still has hope. He continues, “Stars can be seen from the deepest wells, and the deeper the wells the brighter Thy stars shine.” Finally, the poem ends with a request: “Let me find Thy light in my darkness, . . . Thy glory in my valley.”
Jonah found God’s glory during his time in the ocean’s depths. He rebelled against God and ended up in a fish’s stomach, overcome by his sin. There, Jonah cried to God: “You cast me into the deep . . . . The waters surrounded me, even to my soul” (Jonah 2:3,5 nkjv). Despite his situation, Jonah said, “I remembered you, Lord, and my prayer rose to you” (v. 7). God heard his prayer and caused the fish to free him.
Although sin creates distance between God and us, we can look up from the lowest points in our lives and see Him—His holiness, goodness, and grace. If we turn away from our sin and confess it to God, He will forgive us. God answers prayers from the valley.
Lord, in the daytime stars can be seen from deepest wells, and the deeper the wells the brighter Your stars shine; let me find Your light in my darkness.
The darkness of sin only makes the light of God’s grace shine brighter.

Don’t Run Alone
Since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses . . . let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1
Aaron and Hur, two friends who helped Moses, the leader of the Israelites, at a key point (Ex. 17:8–13). The Israelites were under attack. In battle, they were winning only as long as Moses held his staff up (v. 11). So when Moses’s strength began to fail, Aaron and Hur stood on either side of him, holding up his arms for him until sunset (v. 12).
Following God is not a solo endeavor. He did not create us to run the race of life alone. Companions can help us persevere through difficulty as we do what God has called us to do.
God, thank You for relationships that encourage me to continue following You. Help me to be a source of strength for others, as well.
Who can I encourage to persevere through difficulty today?

Word of Encouragement

Hold on Tightly

Hold firmly to Him, and serve Him with all your heart and all your soul (Joshua 22:5).

Thankfully, Scripture is rich in exhortations for hard times, such as those found in Joshua 22. When heeded, they lead to enriched confidence in God, stronger character, and renewed strength to continue serving Him by His power. “Everyone feels benevolent if nothing happens to be annoying him at the moment,” wrote C. S. Lewis in The Problem of Pain. Indeed, it is far easier to be giving and sacrificial when things are going smoothly. But challenges remind us that a fruitful ministry must be based on God’s leading and power—not our own intentions.

Wherever God leads us or asks us to stay, it’s our joy to follow Him in trust and obedience. In Joshua 22:5, the Israelites were instructed to love God, walk in obedience to Him, keep His commands, “hold firmly to him,” and “serve him with all [their] heart and all [their] soul.” These commands should be an encouragement to all believers, especially those serving in particularly difficult situations.

Just as the people of Israel were instructed to “share” with others out of their abundance (Joshua 22:8), may we share with others our time, talents, and treasures. And let’s hold tightly to Him during difficult days, freely giving of ourselves as He provides.

Sorrow and Selfishness
They said to Samson, “Don’t you realize the Philistines rule over us? What are you doing to us?” But Samson replied, “I only did to them what they did to me” (Judges 15:11).
In Andrew Wommack’s book Self-Centeredness: The Source of All Grief, he writes, “The reason we are so easily hurt or offended is that we are still alive to self and full of pride.”
Samson definitely was easily offended when he didn’t get his way (Judges 15:1-6). As one of Israel’s last judges, the powerful warrior overcame many Philistine attacks, but pride and lust ultimately led to his downfall (Judges 13:24-25, Judges 14:1,Judges 16:1,4). We get a glimpse of his arrogance when a Philistine girl catches his eye and he demands that his parents “get her” for him (Judges 14:1-3). Samson also regularly allowed his temper to go unchecked. He disregarded his parents’ counsel and his selfishness eventually led to the death of his wife and her father (Judges 14:19, Judges 15:1-7). And when the people of Judah tried to reason with him, Samson’s eye-for-an-eye response only further reinforced his selfish reputation as he said, “I only did to them what they did to me” (Judges 15:11).
Samson boasted of his killing sprees and openly slept with a Philistine pr******te (Judges 16:1). And sometime after being captured and blinded by the Philistines, he prayed that God would destroy them, thus repaying them for their actions (Judges 16:2-30).
God did bring good out of Samson’s life, but his overriding focus on self also led to much heartbreak. Although I’ve also been offended and hurt in life, I’ve come to realize that “my old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God” (Galatians 2:20). True greatness is found when we recognize Christ as the source of our lives: “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27 NIV).

Light in the Darkness

The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid (Psalm 27:1)?
By its nature, light dispels darkness, and so God was like a torch on a dark night for David, chasing his fears into the distant shadows. In Psalm 27, he confidently declared, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1).
With God lighting his way, David felt safe. He believed the Lord would help him in his troubles (Psalm 27:5). Anyone who knows they have a loving Protector close at hand will feel courageous when they’re threatened. The problem is that sometimes our imagination magnifies whatever is threatening us and we can doubt God’s power.
David called out to God and could therefore say with confidence: “Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident” (Psalm 27:3).
When David faced the giant Goliath, his trust in God allowed him to shout, “This is the Lord’s battle, and he will give you to us!” (1 Samuel 17:47). Do you believe God will help you when you’re afraid? One day, all our fear will be gone, and we’ll be safe in the light of God’s presence (Revelation 21:2-4). May we rest in Him today!

From The Pastors Corner -

Your Season is coming

Don't worry about what is happening in your life right now, its not yet your season. There are times when everyone around you is getting married, finding a better job or buying houses and you feel stuck in one place. They are in their season, don't be jealous about them but celebrate with them. The God who did it for them will do it for you. A mango tree does not worry when the orange tree is producing fruits in it's season. When you see me sitting in a restaurant without food on my table don't feel pity for me, i am waiting for my order.
One day I went to Del Fono Restuarant , and the waiter asked me to wait for my order at the parking, I was very hungry, and saw cars that came after me, leaving with their orders. After some time, the waiter came with my order, I started complaining that it took too long, and the people who came after me, are already gone. She simply said to me," Ps. Mokopane, special orders, takes a long time". When your season comes , nothing will stand in your way. Your time is coming. Don't stop to do good; don't stop to go to church; don't stop to fast and pray; don't stop pursuing that dream, your time is coming. Isaiah 40,:30-31 even youth grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but they that wait upon the Lord , shall renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not weary, they will walk and not faint. I decree and I declare that you will enter your promised land. I prophecy, that you will see the goodness of the Lord in your life.
Psalm 30:5 Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Have a blessed night.

*A LESSON FROM ATM*
Yesterday I was at the ATM to get some cash because I dearly needed money.
As I started to transact, the ATM showed me an inscription which said; Please insert your card.
I did
And then another message popped up- Please enter your pin code
I did
And then another message came ...select the amount,
I did that too
After I had done all this...the ATM showed me a message in BOLD letters
YOUR TRANSACTION IS BEING PROCESSED, PLEASE WAIT !
Allow me to say..when you have done all the things you can, you have prayed, you have fasted, you have even asked others to pray with you and for you but it seems as if nothing is happening in your life, wait patiently don't give up, don't move because your request is being processed.
WAIT!
Let me tell you ..What made me wait is because my card was already in the ATM, I had already entered my pin code.
If I give up now and walk away..Lord have Mercy... The next person will get all that I had requested.
Not because your messages aren't heard, not because your prayers are irrelevant, not because your fasting is meaningless..but because
YOUR TRANSACTION IS BEING PROCESSED
*Wait and murmur not. Do not think you were born to suffer..*
*Your prayers are being processed so Wait upon the Lord*🙏
I Know it's not easy but I encourage you ..WAIT!!!...As it is in
Isaiah 40:31
*But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.*
YOUR TRANSACTION IS BEING PROCESSED. PLEASE WAIT
Be Blessed!!
