We couldn't have asked for a more thrilling start to our Kruger National Park safari! As soon as we entered through Crocodile Bridge, we stumbled upon a pack of wild dogs in action. They were incredibly efficient, taking down a young impala in a matter of seconds.

Bird of the Week: African Darter (Slanghalsvoël)
These birds often perch with their necks outstretched, resembling a snake, hence their common name, Snakebird. African Darters are skilled fishers, using their long, slender necks to spear their prey. They often form large groups, especially during breeding season. You can find them in slow-moving rivers, lakes, and wetlands.

A Glimpse into the Magic of Glassblowing
We visited the fascinating Ngwenya Glass factory. Watching the skilled artisans transform molten glass into beautiful creations was truly mesmerizing!
Ngwenya Glass is a unique factory that specializes in handmade glass products, using recycled glass as its primary material. The glassblowing process is an ancient technique that requires incredible skill and precision. We delved into the rich history of Eswatini by visiting the Nsangwini Rock Art site. These ancient paintings offer a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the San people, who inhabited the region thousands of years ago.
The San people were skilled hunters and gatherers who lived in harmony with nature.
They created rock art using natural pigments like ochre, blood and charcoal.
The paintings often depict animals, humans, and spiritual symbols, reflecting their beliefs and way of life.
It's truly amazing to think about the stories these ancient paintings tell and the lives of the people who created them.

We embarked on a refreshing hike to the stunning Phophonyane Falls in Eswatini. The beauty of the waterfall was truly breathtaking!

We sat on a deck, high up in the trees,
Watching the river, the wildlife at ease.
The sun began to set, a golden hue,
And animals gathered, a marvellous view.
Birds rode on hippos, a comical sight,
Elephants played in the water, a delight.
A lion stalked by, hungry for prey,
Crocodiles waited, hidden in the clay.
A waterbuck grazed, peaceful and calm,
As darkness descended, a magical charm.
