STRANDE / BEACHES
Met die somerseisoen op hande en besoekers wat na die dorp en strande toeneem, doen Mosselbaai Munisipaliteit weereens 'n beroep op ouers en voogde om toe te sien dat veral minderjariges en kinders wat nie kan swem nie, deur 'n volwassene (verkieslik iemand wat kan swem) vergesel word wanneer hulle die strande besoek.

Strandpatrolliedienste en lewensredders is reeds op die vyf Blou Vlag strande in die groter Mosselbaai ontplooi, maar sal ook werksaam wees op die ander gewilde swemstrande. Die strandpatrolliedienste dien as die oë en ore van die munisipale wetstoepassers, maar met die opdrag om beleefd enige ongerymdheid wat teenstrydig is met die munisipale kennisgewings aan te spreek en, sou nie gehoor gegee word nie, op te tree deur óf die wetstoepassers of die SA Polisie te ontbied, indien nodig.

Die oogmerk van die strandpatrolliedienste is om sigbaar te patrolleer en om deur hul teenwoordigheid 'n afskrikmiddel vir enige ongerymdhede te wees. Die strandpatrollie-lede sal ook waar moontlik hulp verleen om die strandervaring so onvergeetlik as moontlik te maak.

However, lifeguards call for beach-goers' cooperation by always responding to their instructions and by staying strictly within the designated swimming area. Some areas, such as the beach at Dana Bay, are not ideal swimming beaches and holidaymakers are urged not to swim there. The ocean currents at Dana Bay are deceptive, making it very dangerous - although the beach is ideal for long walks along the sea.

A further urgent request is also made for beach-goers to remove all their litter from the beaches after a day's fun in the sun.
