Country Manager/Management Couple required in Tanzania
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lodge Operations
● Oversee all company and lodges operations and ensure team productivity within the company’s Tanzanian properties.
● Ensure exceptional guest experiences
● Monitor lodge monthly reports, identify issues and take decisions accordingly to meet objectives.
● Oversee key property issues including capital projects, customer service, refurbishment, maintenance of lodges and other assets.
● Coordinate and develop the lodge annual plans in consultation with Concession and Lodge Managers
● Oversee reports submitted by Lodge Managers on a quarterly basis and ensure annual plan is followed.
● Coordinate bi-weekly management meetings with each property. Revenue Management
● Manage on-going profitability of all the lodges, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded in line with company objectives.
● Monitor lodge budget goals and set other short and long-term strategic goals for the properties
● Develop revenue forecasts for each property.
● Develop improvement actions and carry out cost saving initiatives.
● Ensure monthly financial outlook for Rooms/Occupancy, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, are on target and accurate Financial Management
● Manage and ensure the subsequent achievement of each lodge’s annual Operating Budget and Capital Budget.
● Achieve the monthly and annual budgets and continuously seek improved ways to achieve positive results.
● Review lodges monthly financial reporting, identify issues and take decisions accordingly.
● Drive financial responsibility and accountability; anticipate industry operating trends and partner with the senior teams to drive innovation and establish plans to incorporate new concepts and strategies throughout all company lodges.
● Ensure sustained positive organizational and economic growth, in line with the company objectives.
● Consult with the CEO on a regular basis on the current as well as future financial status of the business, highlighting areas where improvements can be achieved.
● Monitor and act on staffing levels and productivity targets. Leadership

● Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the lodges and management company.
● Translate company strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth, supporting and implementing organization-wide goal setting and annual operating plans.
● Collaborate with the Exco team in setting and driving organizational vision and operational strategy. Quality Management
● Ensure that the lodges are adhering to company standards in terms of guest experience, staff welfare, training and development, as well as maintenance and back of house standards.
● Support lodge managers with product improvements.
● Continuously strive and work towards gaining the competitive edge within the industry.
● Investigate new suppliers and opportunities to remain current, cost effective and guest experience focused.
● Implement new systems, introduce new suppliers and monitor their effectiveness.
● Develop, implement and train SOPs for all operational departments.
● Monitor standards throughout the properties to ensure they are being adhered to.
● Conduct quarterly audits of the properties to establish areas that require improvements and ensure that standards are being maintained and policies being adhered to.
● Encourage team members to be innovative and assist in improving standards. Communication
● Ensure ongoing and active communication with staff, lodge management, suppliers, and partners, including Government and communities, to build and maintain relationships.
● Develop an environment of open channel communication to ensure the opportunity to express concerns and new ideas are discussed and considered by all staff. Marketing
● Build relations and ensure ongoing communication with agents where required.
● Readily host strategic partners, guests, officials etc. when scheduled.
● Ensure effective and continuous communication with the Sales and Marketing, and Reservations Teams ahead of strategic partners and clients arrival.
● Update the Sales and Marketing team on specific issues that occur or any product improvements.
● Attend trade shows and sales and marketing events where required.
● Continuously improve flexibility and the ability to respond to new and ongoing marketing initiatives Business Development
● Actively participate in the strategic planning and on-going development of the product.
● Collaborate with the CEO and other senior managers in setting and driving organizational vision.
● Assist in planning for any future developments and projects where relevant. Compliance
● Ensure continuous monitoring of all properties for legal compliance and effective health and safety protocols.
● Ensure all properties have completed risk assessment and are continually working on correcting any issues identified.
● Ensure adherence to company, government, county, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary
● Ensure all lodges have valid licenses in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
● Ensure insurance compliance and validity.
● Assist and support the relevant individuals in the business in the development of the local community relations.
● Promote the local community experience for guests prior to, during and after their stay, where relevant.
● Investigate and administer any new opportunities to work with the community.
● Promote conservation initiatives such as, but not limited to, rain water harvesting, recycling, waste management, gray water consumption, vegetable garden, and plant rehabilitation.
● Ensure lodges comply with the sustainability policy, and all operational audit recommendations are adhered to.
● Participate in meetings with conservation and community partners where required.
