It’s a rainy evening in Cape Town, and I’m curled up in bed, working on plans for a documentary I’ll be making next year. 🎥 This film will dive into the stories of the people and communities who use the tidal pools of the Western Cape—something I’ve realised is so important to share. My book, which focuses on the pools themselves, will be in stores on 18 October, but this new project will highlight the human connection to these magical spaces. 🌊

I’m incredibly grateful for all the support I’ve had on this journey—from Justin Fox writing a beautiful foreword, to Lesley Hay-Whitton’s brilliant editing, Lauren Smith’s detailed proofreading, and Tania Bester’s stunning design work. A huge thank you to the team at Rockhopper Books for believing in this vision and to the early enthusiasts who’ve cheered me on along the way. 💙
