Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates are now OPEN for South Africans without quarantine.
Saudi Arabia has removed South Africa from the banned country list, effective 8 September 2021. Vaccinated South Africans are now allowed into Saudi Arabia.
Acceptable vaccines are: Pfizer-BioNTech, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Moderna, or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson (Janssen). Visitors are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after their last and final dose.
In addition to vaccination, a 72-hour negative PCR test certificate is also required for all travellers eight years and older.
United Arab Emirates also removed quarantine requirements for South Africans. Vaccinated and unvaccinated may now enter subject to below conditions.
If Dubai Is Your Final Destination:
Tourist holding a valid UAE visa can now enter Dubai subject to providing the following:
1. A valid hard copy of a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate with a QR code issued within 48-hours of departure.
2. A rapid PCR test report with a QR code for a test conducted at the at the departure airport (JNB/CPT/DUR) within six hours of departure at the approved laboratories that is situated at the departing airports (JNB/CPT/DUR).
Passengers Transiting Through Dubai And Not Leaving Dubai International Airport:
Transit passengers travelling from South Africa are required to present a hard copy of a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate valid 72-hours before departure and satisfy all other requirements of their final destination.
All test must be carried out by an Emirates Approved Laboratory listed on www.emirates.com/za/english/
