SPOTLIGHT ON: NORMA JEAN’S LAKEVIEW RESORT

Norma Jean's Lake View Resort, formerly known as the Inn on Great Zimbabwe, is situated in the woodlands and granite hills overlooking Lake Mutirikwe (the former Lake Kyle). The lake offers some of the best bass fishing in southern Africa. Norma Jean’s offers modern facilities coupled with old fashioned values and is just 10 minutes away from the Great Zimbabwe Monument.

Norma Jean’s emphasis is on comfortable accommodation for the more discerning visitor, offering fully furnished and equipped self-catering lodges and hotel rooms. There 8 hotel rooms (with dining and lounge facilities) and 4 fully equipped self-catering family lodges. Both hotel rooms and self-catering chalets are en-suite, and all have private balconies with views across Lake Mutirikwe. The décor of the hotel rooms and self-catering accommodation is unassuming, yet stylish and all the rooms are spotless.

In addition, we offer 9 budget rooms with communal ablutions, kitchen and braai facilities.

The resort has a fully appointed restaurant available for the convenience of all guests, especially those in self-catering units who don’t feel like their own cooking. They offer a full English breakfast and our four-course Table d’Hote menu in the evenings is an especial favourite. A conference facility for up to 50 delegates is available.

While staying here, try bass fishing in Lake Mutirikwe, as well as boat cruises, sailing and skiing on Zimbabwe’s third largest dam. Guided and self-drive game drives, as well as guided bush walks and birdwatching in the Lake Mutirikwe Recreational Park are available to guests.

The hospitality and meals at Norma Jeans was perhaps the best we experience during the 2 weeks in Zimbabwe. The gardens of this lovely resort are in a class of its own. Temba strongly recommends Norma Jean Lakeview resort to anybody visiting this area. If you prefer camping it is the place to be, they offers about the best self-catering accommodation inn Zimbabwe while the hotel is certainly highly recommendable.

ZIMBABWE TRAVEL AUTHORITY – BEITBRIDGE BORDER POST
GENERAL INFORMATION

To all visitors and persons involved in tourism in Zimbabwe.

The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority have staff stationed at the Beitbridge border specifically to assist any visitors or tourists coming into Zimbabwe.

They are positioned at the end of the bridge in the car park as you cross into Zim, and will assist you right through the border, sorting out all the formalities, Road toll, Customs, Road tax, Immigration, Visas, Interpol, etc. and then see you right through to the exit gate, they will handle everything for you at absolutely no charge whatsoever.

That is their job and they are very proud of it, and it is to show the tourist that you can enter Zim without any problems and at no unforeseen costs.
I have personally used them and they were really friendly and gave a fantastic service, well worth using.
