A proper water buck taken by in the heart of the Eastern Free State 🍂
Having spotted this bull working some cows about 1000 yards away, we worked our way underneath a small ridge to close the gap. As we came over the top the bull was still in amongst the cows with only one thing on his mind!
Fred put a perfect shot on the shoulder and the bull didn’t make it 100m 🐾

With all the rain around a lot of fish are finding themselves in shallow water as they hunt for food... This leads to the Hunter becoming the hunted, this cat fish (barble as it is known in ) came off second best with a fish eagle but it was too heavy for the bird to take away... Nature is extremely cruel but absolutely fascinating at the same time!
Africa never ceases to amaze us 🐾

It’s been a busy few weeks in camp! Another awesome weekend hosting the team for a great weekend of fishing 🎣, game drives 🐾 and a few cold drinks around the fire 🔥!

Putting the boys on the pigs 💯 % of the time, every time!! What a pleasure it was spending the afternoon with nephew and good friend .nobrega in the Bush. The afternoon ended with this management warthog for the pot 🥘
The Easter Cape is extremely dry at the moment but the animal numbers are good and they are in great condition regardless of the lack of water - with hunters dollars we are able to pump water to strategic places and manage our herds through difficult times..
If it wasn’t for our clients, this wouldn’t be possible!

“Mountain Madness”

Some serious length on this mountain ⛰ reed buck we hunted in our cradock concession.

Although his horns are impressive, he had no teeth and his carcus weight dressed out to a mere 7.5kgs. He was well beyond his prime and I’m quite sure he wouldn’t have survived the next month which would take us into Spring and the start of what would hopefully lead to some early rain.

These Boks are normally delicious and make many tasty dishes but we decided to turn this old leathery chap into biltong and dry wors for snacks!

What a pleasure it was having this group in camp! It has been a rollercoaster few weeks and life in Africa is always teaching us new lessons, sending us on new adventures and putting us in touch with new people who end up being our life long friends...
