The bright, colourful Victorian-style bathing boxes of St James are an icon of the Cape and a worth while stop on any Cape Peninsula tour.

A foot path from the main road leads one through a tunnel underneath the train tracks and opens up onto a white sandy beach with a tidal pool lined by these pretty huts.

Laze at the tidal pool or for the more adventurous, follow the footpath between the train tracks and the ocean all the way to Muizenberg and back. A great way to enjoy the sights whilst breathing in some fresh ocean air.
