We had padkos for our next stop . A 6 course fest of Chef Abi’s childhood memories on a plate. Our last stop, Cultivate…tasting incredible wines by female winemakers 👏✨

One of our most treasured experiences is the day trip to Kakum National Park. Soar a hundred feet from the ground as you walk among the treetops along suspended bridges.

We move on to tour the Cape Coast. Where we are faced with reflections of the past as we trace the steps taken by our forefathers at the memorial museum of the Atlantic Slave Trade. A triangular trade that fueled Europe’s colonial empires. A truly moving day.

This market was constructed in 1924! It stood at the heart of the urban Ghanaian life and was the epicenter of trade in the country.

Nowadays you can expect an eclectic collective of West African vendors selling beautiful beaded necklaces, Shea butter products, wood carvings and leather goods - just to name a few.

One our favourite experiences in Ghana is our ...and we'll be doing it all again this year...

We ignite our senses in a culinary masterclass of Jollof Rice making in a warm ambiance setting of art and music 👨‍🍳 Enjoy the thrill of acquiring a new skill you can take home with you.

Jollof rice is a spiced dish, simmered in reduced tomatoes, onions, peppers, and different seasonings 🍅

Its origins are a bit of a hot topic - but we do know for sure that it originated in West Africa. Its influence can be traced all the way to the Gumbo and Jambalaya's found in New Orleans.

There is an ongoing battle on social media for the best version of this dish. Join in using - even Jamie Oliver has tried his hand at it.

This week we look back on Penny's time in Ghana with Soul Traveller!

“Medase Ghana! So many layers, emotions, divine encounters and jaw dropping beauty on this trip! This country has so much history, culture, food, art, music and fashion.

Our 3-hour journey to Cape Coast and the Kakum National Forest was to a certain extent spiritual. To make the journey even more special we arranged an 'Ask Aunty Adjoa' session on the bus. She travelled with us to we could engage an elder in conversation about the traditions, rituals and cultures of the Akan people. She was a wealth of wisdom and the epitome of grace.

At Cape Coast we had a symbolic naming ceremony and we each got our 'day names'. I am grateful that I got to host the most incredibly open minded souls on this journey. I am richer for the experience."
