SEYCHELLES FAVOURITE - PARADISE SUN, PRASLIN ISLAND

Paradise Sun has been a firm favourite amongst South Africans holidaying in the Seychelles for many years. It’s the location that makes this Creole flavoured resort so special - it lies tucked away in the quietest and most attractively picturesque corner of beautiful Cote d’Or beach with a towering rain forest clad mountainside behind and the blindingly blue waters of the bay in front of a perfect powder sand beach!

GUEST FEEDBACK - PRINCESSE BORA LODGE, SAINTE MARIE, MADAGASCAR

In the middle of a palm tree grove on the edge of a glorious white sand beach & lagoon, you’ll find the 20 chalets that make up the most luxurious accommodation on the pirate’s island of Sainte Marie, off the East Coast of Madagascar. One of our favourite lodges on this island is Princesse Bora, THE choice for more sophisticated travellers!

We have received some great feedback from our recent travellers to Princesse Bora.

“Hi Theresa,
We had such a fantastic time thank you. It was so relaxing & felt that Princesse Bora had everything we needed & we could really kick back and relax without feeling the need to go out & explore. It was awesome that the lodge has boating, diving, snorkeling, day trips by boat/bike/quad bike, the spa, a great pool etc. We really enjoyed the food & drinks & literally spent days reading, snoozing, lying on the beach & having cocktails. It’s an incredibly beautiful spot & we felt very rested when we got home.”

“Hi Erna,
We had a great time & feel extremely fortunate to have spent time in what really felt like paradise. Princesse Bora was absolutely amazing! Highlights for us was the Ile Aux Nattes day trip on the Moana Cat- absolutely fantastic, the boat ride very exciting & the grilled octopus on the beach, fabulous! The kids loved the diving centre activities, diving & tubing & quad bike riding. I highly recommend this lodge, active kids have unlimited options & staff are geared towards keeping kids entertained. The activities were also surprisingly affordable.

A bonus was the quality of food & great wine selection - it really was of the best menus, well designed, exciting for adults & kids. The good pizza option was the cherry on top.”

𝗚𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞 - 𝗕𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗠𝗔 𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛 𝗟𝗢𝗗𝗚𝗘, 𝗠𝗔𝗙𝗜𝗔 𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗, 𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗭𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗔

Swim with whale sharks, snorkel on coral reefs, picnic on pristine sand banks, or simply relax on the stunning white powder beach in front of Butiama - this gorgeous little beach lodge on unspoiled Mafia Island has jumped straight into our shortlist of favourites! We received some great feedback from Carmen about her stay recently at Butiama Beach Lodge on Mafia Island in Tanzania. Check out her feedback below.

“Hi Erna

Thank you again for such great service and a wonderful holiday we will cherish forever!

We absolutely loved Butiama!!!! There were some tourists who had been to Pemba and Zanzibar and were disappointed with Mafia and Butiama as they felt it was 40 years backward but that’s exactly what we loved about it. The chill factor is AMAZING. I didn’t wear shoes or slops for a week. NO sea urchins to be seen. Just a couple of friendly brown jelly fish to greet you as you dance into the 30 degree clean ocean water.. We loved swimming in the Estuary and did a birding trip to the big estuary which we absolutely loved.

The relaxed attitude is great and we didn’t feel like we needed to be on the activity treadmill, they didn’t force any trips on us and were understanding when we cancelled due to weather or wanting to just have the day to ourselves.

We really loved the meals, the beers were always cold and they make a great Mojito 😊! We had lunch there a couple of times - the “tramazini” is actually a toasted sandwich. All was good!

We are quite aware of the impact of big groups on boats and numerous boats flocking/chasing the whale sharks vibe so we were very pleased that they were very open to taking us on a trip with just the 2 of us and tailor activities to our preference. The snorkelling at Chole Bay is great for beginners.”

One of the most exciting new launches this year is 𝗕𝗮𝘄𝗲 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱, an exclusive 30 hectare private island which lies just a 15 minute ride by speed boat from Stone Town! Part of the Cocoon Collection, the new resort will be officially welcoming guests from the 1st of June 2024.

Bawe Island promises to be one of the most stylish and upmarket resorts in the archipelago, with 70 spacious (the smallest is 170 sqm!) and luxurious villas, all equipped with private pool and butler service. 4 different restaurants will offer exciting dine around facilities. Perhaps the highlight though will be the 8 over-water villas - add in a superb house reef and Bawe Island promises to be the closest thing to a Maldives-type experience this side of the equator!
