Wandering the depths of the Garden Route National Park, the only known survivor of the historic and iconic Knysna forest elephant herd, Strangefoot, faces an uncertain future. Conservationists and locals wrestle with the question: Should we intervene or let nature take its course?

St. Francis is often on our guests' itineraries en-route between the Garden Route and one of the game reserves in the Eastern Cape.

Our Story

DESTINATION GARDEN ROUTE is a tourism marketing company, connecting tourism establishments and individuals with the travel trade and visitors, with a strong focus on the Garden Route, South Africa.

We connect people.

The multi-level marketing approach incorporates assisting (tourism) businesses based on the Garden Route to increase their online presence and educate their peers, stakeholders and (current and future) guests about their offerings in the area through representation at workshops and trade shows, building on online social media management and email marketing.

We assist individual visitors as well as tour operators putting itineraries together which work, based on available budget and interests. Our aim is always to share our Garden Route in its unique and personal way. We like to show you the more intimate establishments (max. 25 rooms), the ‘hidden gems’ and showcase the many entrepreneurs operating on the Garden Route. Immerse in everyday life, get to know the locals, change forever.
