Last week, All About Africa embarked on an unforgettable educational adventure, hosted by Hotel Sky in collaboration with City Sightseeing SA, Groot Constantia, Pienaar & Son Distilling, and Afrikoa chocolates. 🌍🌟

The day kicked off with an exhilarating Sky-Hi Ride on the 28th floor of Hotel Sky, soaring 35 meters above Cape Town's bustling city bowl. Imagine the rush as you take in a bird's-eye view of one of the most stunning cities in the world! The gravity-defying descent reaches a heart-pounding free fall speed of up to 100 km per hour, subjecting you to almost 4G's of excitement. 🪂💨

After a delicious breakfast, our journey continued along the Blue Route aboard a vibrant red open-deck bus. We cruised past the lush Kirstenbosch Gardens, making our way to the historic Groot Constantia estate. Here, we indulged in a captivating cellar tour and a delightful wine-tasting experience. 🍷🌿

Our scenic route led us through Hout Bay and along the picturesque beach road flanked by the Twelve Apostles mountain range. Finally, we arrived at the iconic V&A Waterfront, where we savored delicious gin and immersed ourselves in the AFRIKOA Bean-to-Bar Experience & Tasting. 🍫🍸

The day ended back at Hotel Sky.

Eswatini Travel - I am looking for a guest house for my self-drive clients to overnight on their way through Eswatini. They are coming from Mbombela Region and probably driving via Bulembu border post, Big Bend and back into SA. Other option is Jeppes Reef. Overnight stop must be mid-way, i.e. closer to Manzini, Matsapha areas. Please send me some recommendations. [email protected]

Concerns Regarding Our Experience with Safarilink SA.
I am writing to express our deep dissatisfaction with the recent incident involving Safarilink SA. Despite our verbal and written complaints, we have received a disappointing response: “you are not due a refund.” Regrettably, our valid concerns were neither acknowledged nor addressed. It appears that the issues have been disregarded and swept under the carpet.
As a customer, I believe it is essential for service providers to uphold ethical standards and prioritize customer satisfaction. Imagine if all tour operators adopted a similar approach—it would undoubtedly impact their reputation and customer trust.

Where the ocean meets the dunes. Sandwich Harbour Lagoon.

This is where the Namib’s giant dunes run into one of the country’s most important coastal wetlands. The Sandwich Harbour Lagoon is one of Namibia’s Ramsar sites and supports thousands of wading birds, with eight of these species being endangered. Apart from being of ecological importance, the sheer scope of the natural lagoon and massive dunes that run into it makes it one of the country’s must-visit places. As getting here is not for the faint-hearted, various companies offer day excursions to Sandwich Harbour.

𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿

Simone Micheletti, a true Tourism Hero from the Wildwaters Group. He has helped to transform the lives of the inhabitants in a conservancy, notably the Wuparo Conservancy near Nkasa Rupara National Park. His impactful initiatives include the construction of two kindergartens for local communities, where he not only covers the salaries of teachers and gardeners but also manages a feeding scheme for all the learners. Remarkably, his lodge at the park has evolved into a training centre attracting students and graduates from across the tourism and hospitality industry for attachments and internships. Aspiring learner guides hone their tour and safari guiding skills, covering both boat cruises and game drives.

Simone's commitment to safety is evident in his proactive measures to address isolated incidents of theft from tourists. He personally liaised with the regional police commander, resulting in a significant reduction in crime rates, effectively ensuring a safer environment for visitors. Notably, he has become one of the employers in the Chobe vicinity and the Judea Lyaboloma Constituency, showcasing his substantial impact on the local community and economy. Therefore, it is only fitting that he has been selected as a Tourism Hero and his reward is in-cash.
