Hitchhiking through Africa This is a story and journal recount of the our 1995 hitchhiking adventure through Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and Malawi. "Let's go up Africa!"

As for the peers I was making studying Graphic Design although great mates and a group of very competitive individuals, there was little underlying love of Africa and that thirst for adventure that Kieron, Peter and I shared. Overtime the modus operandi in communication would be notes underpinned to my windscreen wiper on my car, giving cryptic clues to where the two would be partaking in the acti

vities for the afternoon. "Dukes" was the preferred student watering hole and one we loved hanging out at. There was a lot of outdoor activities which the three of us had undertaken that had stemmed from the conversations at Dukes. Camping in the Pilanesburg, hikes in the Eastern Transvaal expeditions to the Fish River Canyon in Namibia, beautiful mountain adventures in Swaziland and the Drakensburg. It was a typical Thursday evening the beers flowed, the occasional chirping and as the conversation heated up, Kieron lifting his Black Label beer above his head, with a mouth full of teeth proposed.
