We had a wonderful Festive Season here at Nathi Guest House, I would like to thank all my amazing guests and their Families for making it so special and sharing this time with us. A very BIG thank you to Alan and the whole Steward Family for the gorgeous Zebra painting on slate, it has a special place at Nathi and in my heart.

We had the most wonderful storm early this morning, an amazing lightning show and much needed RAIN. It's as if the bush and animals have a new lease on life, even as I sit here, I can hear the Woodlands Kingfisher calling - Summer is here! But don't worry because Nathi Guest house has Air Conditioners in all the bedrooms, so after a fantastic day of game viewing from your pool and a night under the stars you can have a good night’s sleep.

Glorious RAIN ! what a wonderful end to a perfect week, Yesterday provided for us the most Breathtaking Sunset, it was as if the Sky was on fire, lighting up the trees in such a way, only Nature can provide with her amazing Colour Palette and Paintbrushes, an evening filled with spectacular Lightning displays that outdid any firework and Rain, Glorious Rain, if you listened close enough, you could hear the trees sing with joy. As always, with the first rains, comes all our new little babies, we should start seeing them in the next couple of weeks, always a special time in the Bush.
What we do have at the moment is the most incredible Birds, unfortunately they are far to quick for me and my little camera, so have taken to ambushing a few at the bird feeder.

Very Exciting Times for Nathi Guest House, keeping to my convictions to build as Energy Efficiant and as Green as possible, it seems my hard work has paid off, Nathi Guest house WON 2nd Position in Mpumalanga Provincial in the GREENEST MUNICIPALITY COMPETITION 2015. We were very privilaged to attend the Awards Evening in Witbank, and I am extremely PROUD to have been able to win this Award as well as R250 000-00 for my Municipality, NKOMAZI MUNICIPALITY.

Christmas is just around the corner !! and here at Nathi we are already for you, we have been busy putting in a lovely cold water Pool shower so that you can rinse off after your dip or just to cool down after a walk along the River, the patio has the most comfortable couch to sit back and relax on, catch up on that reading while listening to the Elephants down at the River. Our brood of Ostriches are growing up so quickly, they come around everyday, it is such a privilege to have watched them grow and not to forget my sweet old Boy (the Giraffe) who makes my day by popping in most days for a little chat.

It has been another busy week here at Nathi Guest House, what with it being so hot, my sweet Old Boy found his perfect place in the shade, even if it meant I had to Off-Road if I wanted to go in and out of my driveway, the Banded Mongoose are all very hungry and most are pregnant, so they popped in for a quick snack before going to bed. We decided to go into Kruger Park for a quick lunch at Lower Sabie and got to see Wild Dog just 7km in, what a wonderful sight, as well as a Hyena who looked like he had been lying in the mud and lots of Elephants plus a Rhino who had the best spot in the Park. Whew, what a wonderful couple of days here, Firstly was the Lunar Eclipse, such a privilege to be able to witness something so spectacular whilst listening to the bush awaken, the Birds singing, the Zebra stirring, the lions calling across the River and all this plus that first coffee which always taste better in the Bush. Our resident Giraffe has been visiting with a few of his mates, think he is checking out the place ! and as for our baby Ostriches, well they are not so little anymore, growing every day, so now quick, book and come have a conversation with our old Boy, he really is a good listener, I love my daily chats with him.

After much needed rain on Saturday, we woke up to the most beautiful Sunday morning, there was a mist that blanketed Marloth park and as the sun came up and the mist lifted, it seemed as if the bush had come alive over night, everything was greener and brighter, you could almost hear the bush sing. Not to waste such a amazing day we decide to pop into Kruger National Park for Lunch and got to see 3 of the Big 5, just missed out on the Lions but they made up for it last night as they roared for most of the evening
