The Niassa Reserve has a healthy population of dangerous game as well as plains game and we regularly get to see leopard during the day and night on our safaris even if we are not actively hunting one. Here we saw a young one just a few feet from us as we were driving back to camp.

We got this beautiful old bull in Uganda with . The stalk was about an hour or so, three bulls moving together. One had both horns broken off, was an old fighter.

Beautiful East African Bushbuck taken in Uganda. It's unbelievable how many of them are around truly a testament to conservation in Africa.

Eland Hunting 🙌

The Eland is the largest antelope in Africa. It belongs to the ‘spiral-horned’ subfamily and it regularly features in rock art as spiritual inspiration to the prehistoric hunter-gatherer tribes of Southern Africa. Hunting eland can be challenging - they can weigh up to 2,000 pounds and are very powerful animals. You can can hunt Cape eland with us in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, the Livingstone eland in Mozambique and the Patterson’s eland in Uganda.

Get to know our PH Paul Wellock 👋

Paul grew up in Harare and always had a love for the outdoors. Knowing he would never have a desk job, Paul started off guiding canoe and photographic safaris in Zimbabwe and from there he progressed to hunting tourism in the Gwai. After qualifying, Paul was ranch manager and resident PH of a game ranch in the South East Lowveld (Save Valley Conservancy) where he worked for 6 years. He has been fortunate to have hunted some of the best areas in Zimbabwe including Nuanetsi Ranch, Ngamo Sikumi and Panda Masuie.
Since 2009 Paul has been a senior PH at Kambako Safaris in the Niassa Reserve, Mozambique. His all time favourite species to hunt is the very cunning old dugga boys among the thickets of the Niassa.
❗️Paul will be in our booths at the upcoming hunting shows in the US. Come over and meet him and the team.

Get to know our PH Nicolai Raubenheimer 👋

Nicolai grew up in Johannesburg with a passion for hunting at an early age.

After completing his course he started working as a field guide and game ranger in Northern Natal. Here he gained an enormous amount of experience and also did an apprenticeship with one of Natal’s well-known outfitters. Nicolai then moved to the Great Karoo where he was reserve manager and resident PH.

It is here where he met Jacques and soon thereafter he started working for Chapungu-Kambako Safaris in mid 2012. Nicolai is an accredited PH for the Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and North West province, as well as for Mozambique. He is currently the head PH and runs all operations in South Africa. Nicolai is married to Karlien and now lives in Cape Town.
