As with all Bush Babes Conservation Adventures first ever experiences over the years, it takes a lot of grit and perseverance to make them happen. Leilani Basson , owner and founder of Bush Babes has not taken no for an answer in 13 years.
Pulling off the first ever civilian rapelling from a helicopter, after also securing the first ever civilian Special Forces Adventures with G73 Tactical Advisors , is an accomplishment that stands out in Bush Babes' rich history. The fact that these first civilian groups were normal women,moms, housewives, career women etc makes this accomplishment all the more admirable.
It took Leilani a few years to do the ground work for her dream of a women's only Special Forces Experience as well as the rapelling adventure. It took years of networking, finding the right people, getting them to agree to a meeting, selling them the concept and getting them to buy in to making these impossible dreams come true for ordinary women like you and me.
Many similar adventures have been built on Leilani's original Bush Babes dream. Her groundwork still enables participants of these adventures to enjoy the fruits of one woman's tenacity, endurance, patience and perseverance through the organisation hosting these excursions today.
May this incredible achievement and unforgettable memory in Bush Babes history serve to remind us that making the impossible possible, is within every woman's reach. Sundowners and dinner on the lions viewing deck, as well as a night in the bush at Boschpoort Predators inside Mabalingwe Nature Reserve was on the menu this past weekend on our Bush Babes Conservation Adventures year end bush breakaway.
