East Cape Hunt Report (enjoy browsing the photos everyone) = Blessed we were with not only another enjoyable & successful safari, but again also with making new friends! This USA Group on their first Safari with us slotted right in and my Umlilo Safaris Team & I had a great time right from the word go! Although a great variety of Trophy Species were targeted and made it to the salt room, some Cull Animals were also hunted for the skins and meat for the camp and staff. Spotting the animals from various look-out points on higher ground / hill-tops and then starting the walk & stalk, some ambushed hunts and some good old tracking in the valley bushveld of the East Cape of South Africa are often hard to beat anywhere else (as plenty of international folk the past 20+ years will vouch for). Congratulations to you all, we cannot thank you enough and we certainly look forward to next time! Bless you all, best wishes!

Kalahari Hunt Report = Our most recent European Family & Friends had an enjoyable and successful hunt. The daily tracking & stalking on foot was often rewarded with some fine Specimen that are now in the salt room. The evenings around the campfire was where each dayâs hunting adventures were shared by the group, and relived by everyone involved. Thanks and congratulations to you all!

Hunt Report - Special thanks always to my loyal returning clients, and that is exactly why we continuously hunt across Southern Africa and not just on 1 or 2 hunting properties/areas. Specie variety, as most hunters will tell you, varies between areas/regions/provincesâŚUmlilo Safaris have access to all the huntable species â if not found on our own properties, we take you to the species you want to hunt!
Congratulations to my 74 year Client, by now for sure better known as another hunting friend for more than a decade! This hunt was his 10th Safari with Umlilo Safaris, his contribution to conservation through sustainable hunting cannot be over emphasized! Always accompanied by his wife as observer, we have amassed so many great memories, experienced so many places in various regions/provinces together under African SkiesâŚand THAT is what makes me tick â offer and deliver hunting adventures that will make clients not only friends but surely also wanting to return for more and more!
This Safari kicked off from OR Tambo into Mpumalanga and Limpopo, through the Free State and ending in the East CapeâŚbagging some awesome trophies and culling (keeping the tanned hides) some beautiful critters too. Big thank you and looking forward to our next chapter together!

Our Charity Project has kicked off! It is leaving us with smiles and warm hearts every single time.
These past 3 weeks we were able to provide a total of 480 large meals to young vulnerable children in need.... Every Tuesday, we managed 160 large meals from 36 packets of nutritious Maxiblend Rice. Such a great feeling to know that the food we are able to provide is really healthy and nutritious.

PAYING IT FORWARD
Umlilo Safaris, being blessed to survive the 2009 Global Financial Crises as well as the Covid Pandemic, have now officially found a fantastic platform to give back / to plough back / to pay forward our blessings to people in need. Francois Dorfling, owner of Umlilo Safaris, not by chance, but he believes it was destined when he crossed paths with the owners of Maxi Blend whilst in transit at OR Tambo Airport in between Hunting Safaris earlier in this year (2024). Poverty causes mal-nutrition and even starvation in many cases, especially in our 3rd world communities. Such communities are found all over South Africa, in our cities, towns, villages and certainly informal settlements⌠The sight of hungry children and the hungry unemployed in the streets day and night is enough to bring most of us to tears â and our Country is filled with them.
Francois & Melissa Dorfling and their Umlilo Safaris team hereby have joined to pledge to help make a positive difference by feeding the needed. A portion of every Safariâs Income are from now allocated towards this project. We will periodically provide updates on social media to keep our supporters from abroad informed. This is an amazing project to be part of and we invite anyone that could assist please. Our Clients are hereby invited to assist with donations to our local people in need. If anyone would like to donate Maxi Blend meals via ourselves, or to an NGO or any other organization, we would be happy to arrange that on your behalf. Simply email or WhatsApp us your request, and how much you would like to donate, and once we receive your payment, we can arrange to have it delivered and send you feedback.
For International Clients, the cost of this an all-in-one top-value nutritional meal is extremely low:
$1 / âŹ1 to feed 4 people
$10 / âŹ10 to feed 40 people
$100 / âŹ100 to feed 400 people
$250 / âŹ250 to feed 1000 people
If anyone would like to donate Maxi Blend meals to an NGO or any other organisation, we would be happy to arrange that on your behalf. Simply email us your request, and how much you would like to donate, and once we receive your payment, we can arrange to have it delivered.
The Product
Maxi Blend was formulated for emergency food aid, feeding schemes, soup kitchens and home use. It is light weight and easy to prepare, just add to boiling water and cook for 20-30 minutes. Maxi Blend supplies 20grams of protein and 1129 kj of energy per 100g, as well as iron, magnesium and calcium. Maxi Blend is packed in 250g, 500g and 1kg packs. Once cooked, 250g will typically feed 3-4 people. It is a versatile product which can be used for on-site distribution of dry meals to employees in logistically challenging environments, and for on site preparation of meals in difficult and remote locations such as by fire fighters or Game rangers. It is also useful for canteen meals for workers in factories etc. where one can enhance
the versatility of Maxi Blend by adding vegetables or meats.
