“Three days of a true ‘Out of Africa’ experience. Lions Valley Lodge is a five star getaway where we were treated like royalty. With a max of 40 guests, we only had 12 during our stay, so it felt very personal.

The days started at 5am with a wake up call, followed by an 3 hour early morning game drive during the cooler hours.

After a great breakfast we could spend time at the lodge, swimming, or just relaxing on the deck of our enormous Africa suite watching the wildlife go by.

Two bath tubs and beautiful showers including an outdoor option really add to the authenticity.

Then a wonderful lunch followed by a 3 hour game drive in the afternoon.

Dinner then a few drinks to share stories, and an early night to prepare for a repeat performance.

The staff here are magnificent. Nothing is too much trouble. Zee, Precious, Admire and Siya really looked after us at the lodge and Lauren our game guide was superb.

We had great sightings, and although everyone raves about seeing the big 5, of which we were privileged to see 4, (the leopards are very elusive) it was the small things that counted. The amazing bird life, the dung beetles, the eland, gemsbok and numerous kudu and nyala to name a few. All just beautiful. And the cheetah were just magnificent.

This was an experience that we will savour for many years to come.”
