One of my favourite rhino sightings of all times! This was a few years ago in one of the private reserves near Kruger Park. We had them all to ourselves for nearly half an hour. There is just something so special about these beautiful gentle creatures!
This also indicates why a private safari is a good idea if your budget allows it, you are in an open safari vehicle, which enhances your sightings. There are also fewer people, which allow you to experience a more peaceful and authentic game viewing experience!

Sausage Tree Safari Lodge, is a small, intimate lodge in Olfants West, part of Balule.
5 lovely tented rooms, nice cosy lounge area and swimming pool. Staff is super friendly!
Highlight for me was the back rhino sighting, I have never seen such a relaxed black rhino before!

Last night we spent in the very cosy and amazing Nthambo Tree Camp. It was literally next door to Africa on Foot, so a nice short travel distance for us! Tis tented camp also runs on solar. It has 5 luxury tents on stilts, looking over a waterhole. The pool is right in front of the lodge also overlooking the waterhole, and it gets regularly emptied by the elephants, especially now that it is so dry!
Rooms are beautifully appointed with a nice outdoor deck. The game drives we re great! Last night brought us leopard, elephant rhino and some smaller game, even a chameleon!
Early this morning the wind picked up strongly, we didnt't hold much hope for the game drive, as animals are often on high alert with big winds, but we had one of the most amazing drives ever! Leopard with a little 3/4 month old cub, wild dogs, Verrreaux Eagle owl, elephant, what a morning! Great guides, very good vibe at the lodge too and lovely and helpful staff in general!

How I love a bush walk!
Lead by Charlie from @africa_on_foot we ventured out early this morning and had a lovely walk!
Lots of tracks:elephant, rhino, giraffe, wild dog, impala, zebra etc, but we didn't see any of them! We're did however see impala, kudu, warthog and loads of birds and learnt some very interesting things about the little things in the bush!

Day two brings us via the beautiful Magoebaskloof and a quick visit to an old friend who now owns @kingswalden_gardenmanor to #klaserieprivatenaturereserve.
We spend the night at the very cozy and welcoming @africa_on_foot. Small, authentic and comfortable with lovely cool little swimming pool to cool off!
Connie, our guide, is incredibly knowledgeable and knows very interesting facts about many animals, she even managed to teach us some new things!
We spent some time with a beautiful male leopard, what an honour...
Tomorrow morning we're going to do a bush walk!

First stop is @bramasoleguesthouse in Haenertsburg near the beautiful Magoebaskloof Situated on a beautiful, quiet peace of land, this 27-room guesthouse is a great stop between Johannesburg and Greater Kruger.
It is an easy 4-hour drive from OR Tambo Airport, mainly on the highway.
There guesthouse is quiet, there is lots of space and lots of quirky things everywhere!

Pretty amazing place to wake up, another one for the books! #koijastarbeds #Ewaso #ewasocamp #travelkenya #sleepunderthestars
The singing wells. What an amazing tradition. The Maasai dig a hole in the river bed while they singand when water appears they use it to drink, for themselves as well as for their animals. This was the first time they had 'outsiders' visit, what a great experience!
