I grew up a stone's throw from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. The whirring of jet engines warming up on the nearby tarmac and the rattling of windows from planes swooping down over our house is deeply rooted in my childhood memories. It is no wonder that I felt a calling to visit distant lands. After matric, I packed my bags and headed off to London for a working holiday - a popular trend for school leavers at the time. Three years later, I came back home to South Africa with an education in life experiences and a passport full of stamps ready to pursue a career in my passion - travel! I have spent most of my career at a well-known Retail Travel Company where I worked my way up from a Consultant, Shop Manager, Regional Manager and, until recently, the National Operations Manager. In those 12 years, I won several awards for both sales and management, including the coveted CEO award. Even though I am based in South Africa, I still yearn to travel and any chance I get to board an airplane and go somewhere new - I take it. I have stood on the top of Kilimanjaro, hand-glided onto Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, walked along the Great Wall of China in Beijing and explored the Lost City of the Incas in Machu Picchu, Peru. I have lazed on the beaches of Mauritius, Seychelles and Zanzibar, skied down the French Alps and hiked along the Italian seaside villages of Cinque Terre, to name but a few. Recently, after the birth of my second child, I needed some balance in my life and decided to use my experience in travel to set off on a new journey as a business owner. As an Independent Travel Consultant, I choose to associate myself with a well-known Travel Partner because I want the best for my clients. I am meticulous with travel planning as I ensure that all things are considered.
