Staying Connected, No Matter the Distance!

This past week, our Senior Management Team took some time to connect in person with our Cape Town remote team—a great opportunity to step away from the daily hustle, catch up, and share a few laughs over good coffee!

With the first two months of the year flying by, it was the perfect moment to pause, check in, and celebrate the people who make New Frontiers what it is. Whether we’re working remotely, on the road, or at the office, staying connected as a team is what keeps us moving forward.

At the end of the day, it’s not just about the work we do—it’s about the people we do it with. Taking a moment to offload, share ideas, and having a good laugh, reminds us why we love what we do. Here’s to more of that, later in the year when the pace slows down!

Our team had the incredible opportunity to visit Ingane Yami Children’s Village, and what an inspiring experience it was!

Located in a beautiful, well-kept environment, the village is more than just a home. With a dedicated team of foster moms, an onsite school (Grade 000 – Grade 7) offering interactive, hands-on learning, and access to a local high school for older students, the children there are given the best opportunities to grow and succeed.

Beyond academics, Ingane Yami is supported by a passionate community of volunteers who bring their skills in reading, music, ballet, swimming, tennis, PE, and so much more! This holistic approach ensures that each child can thrive academically, creatively, and physically.

We are incredibly proud to be part of this journey, sponsoring four amazing children through our NFT initiative. Seeing firsthand the love, care, and structure in place reinforced our belief in the power of community, education, and opportunity.

Restoring the Rhinos

In May 2022, Imvelo Safaris Lodges launched the Community Rhino Conservation Initiative (CRCI), which piloted a project reintroducing 2 white rhinos back into Hwange. Fast-forward to 2024, and a further 2 rhinos have arrived successfully. Guests can meet The Cobras—this highly trained team recruited from nearby villages is proud, motivated, and each one has a story to tell, some including their poaching exploits in the past. The Cobras Community Wildlife Protection Scouts guard the rhinos 24/7.

World Heritage Sites

Zimbabwe has five World Heritage sites, which are Great Zimbabwe, Khami, Matobo Hills, Victoria Falls, and Mana Pools. The Nyanga Terraces are currently on the Tentative List. Zimbabwe offers its travelers both scenic and historical adventure. Based on their historical, cultural, and natural importance, is the reason these 5 sites have been named World Heritage sites. Zim Reports - On The Road with our Product Team!

Sarah braved the October heat and hit Zimbabwe for a catch-up of some old and new offerings. Starting in Victoria Falls and utilising the slick services of Mack Air Zimbabwe to connect her all the way from Hwange to Kariba and out of Harare. Sarah spent time seeing the Zambezi Vista, Tiger Fishing at Fothergill Island, Elephants as far as the eye can see at Verneys and cocktails up the tower at Shongwe Lookout.

A Giant Thirst

Hwange Elephants are estimated to be around 45 000 in total, making it one of the largest elephant populations in Africa. These Elephants are known for their interesting social structure, living in close-knit family units led by a matriarch. There are a number of camps in Hwange where the elephants have become fond of fresh swimming pool water.
