Moriti Private Safaris Moriti specialises in private African safari tours throughout Southern and Central Africa.

We are as far from a mass tourism operator as you can get and only plan safaris and tours for couples, families, and small groups of friends. We offer small and intimate guided safaris in countries like South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia in destinations like Kruger National Park, Cape Town, The Okavango Delta and Victoria Falls. What unites our little safari business, as well as our supp

ort team and guides, is a love of safaris, a strong dislike of poor customer service, and a desire to make travel a bit more caring through our belief that respecting people, animals and places better truly results in our guests having more authentic African holidays.

On a recent safari to Nzumba @ Klaserie Camps guiding guests from On-Line Safari Tours, we encountered our resident female leopard, Karula (meaning peace) and wow, did she show off! What an awesome sighting of her skirting the waterhole, drinking and then 'cat walking' away into the early evening dark ❤

Throwback Thursday ❤

On 21 July 2016, Shaun and his guests were driving in the open vehicle in Kruger National Park and Lisa shouted, leopard! Shaun reversed, and sure enough, this female leopard had just killed an impala. Moriti's guests have the sharpest eyes!

However, you guys have blown us away yet again and, because of your reviews and love, we not only got the hat trick but received a certificate voting Moriti Private Safaris as one of the top 10% of things to do worldwide!! So much love to all of you, THANK YOU!

Discover the Himba Tribe: A Glimpse into Tradition 🌍✨

The Himba people are a testament to the ongoing spirit of tradition. In the heart of Namibia’s Kunene Region, they thrive as semi-nomadic farmers, their lives a vibrant tapestry of culture and resilience. With an estimated 50,000 strong, the Himba hold fast to their customs, from the distinctive red ochre of their skin and hair to the intricate braids that tell stories of age and status.

Their economy is woven around livestock, with cattle being a symbol of wealth, while maize and millet grow with the rains. Daily life is a communal effort, where women craft and men herd, and together they build homes of wood and clay.

The Himba’s connection to the land is profound, and their respect for nature is evident in every aspect of their existence. As the world changes around them, the Himba remain a beacon of cultural heritage, inviting us to remember the value of simplicity and the beauty of living in harmony with the earth.

Come and visit these amazing people on a tailored Namibian safari soon ❤🫏

This little dude left their siblings and mom and came closer to check out the weird, hairless apes that were staring and making noises. So cute and such a blessing ❤️

Our Kruger National Park part of our safari is done and we had such awesome sightings! This leopard was the icing on a pretty sweet cake ❤ Shaun and On-line Safari Tours are in Klaserie now staying with Klaserie Camps and as usual, they have rolled out the red carpet. Amazing accommodation, service and this morning we only just got to see lions up close and personal on our first drive! 🦁

Reason 5: It is a wildlife haven. In all honesty, you will have sightings here that are impossible to replicate anywhere else in Africa. The animals are the stars of the show and we are just there to watch, right in the front row ❤🐘🌴

Contact us for more info on the links in our bio. Yes, you may need to take out a loan, but it will be sooooooo worth it man!

Reason 4: A mokoro activity in the delta is better than any therapy session you will ever have! The sounds, the feeling, the water, the atmosphere... It is something worth experiencing at least once in your lifetime ❤🌴🦛💧

Reason 3: You get to have dinner with the king, even if he doesn't like sharing and the meal is not well cooked... Turn up the sound for this one ❤🦁🔈

Throwback Thursday ❤

One afternoon, we had the most amazing opportunity to walk close to this beautiful rhino! Long-time guests and friends Jen and John trusted me and Vusi to take them in. We carefully positioned ourselves behind a bush in the riverbed and watched, undetected as this rhino went about his afternoon routine. It was epic, thanks for the video, Jen ❤🦏

Throwback Thursday

In December 2015, we sat in an open area somewhere in the bush and watched as this massive male rhino walked directly towards us, past the game vehicle and meandered his way back into the bush. We sat quietly for ages, with just his chomping and walking sounds and birds chirping reverberating around us. This photo was taken close to the vehicle, what a magical experience with our favourite chubby unicorns! ❤
