Welcome to Derian Koekemoer Safaris, we are a family own company, owed and oprerated by Derian & Johlene Koekemoer.

We operate hunting safaris in South Africa in the heart of the Lowveld and hunt some of the best concessions there is to offer for Big Game and Plains Game in Southern Africa. We strive to give top quality service and an unforgettable hunting experience to our clients. We are able

to accomodate any hunter and his family, to suite your budget, we offer from Duiker to Elephant hunting. We also offer fantastic day trips for the family, hot air balloon over the Blyde Canyon, feeding the world famous Hippo, Kruger National Park trips, panorama route to God's window and many more activity's. Our main camp is based in the heart of the Lowveld bordering the Greater Kruger National Park, we can accomadate up to 16 guest's in our camp, a convenient 5 hour drive from OR Tambo International Airport or you can use our local airport, witch has direct flights from OR Tambo to Hoedspruit, witch is then only a 15min drive to hunting camp. Hunting the way its meant to be, is very important to us a fair chase hunt on all our Safaris. You will be in the wild Lowveld surrounded by, wild Cape buffalo, Leopard and Spotted hyenas calling in the night. We are proud hunters and we would like to share this with you, our clients are up most important to us. Every client will be guided personally by myself or one of my hand picked Professional Hunters. We will be waiting for you at the airport and will say good bye for now at the airport, seen you soon.

The trouble maker bull. A returning client helped us out on a Private Game Reserve in the Lowveld by hunting this bull. This Buffalo was a true trouble maker, attacking the staff and vehicles, he was just a real threat for the people.

When we found him he was standing his ground and you could see he was a force to reckon with. The moment he saw us he came straight on and our client gave him a full on frontal chest shot. With a quick back up shot the bull run for maybe 50 yards and he was down and out.

Just look at how the bosses on this bull broke off from just fighting with anything he could find.

After 3 days of hard hunting we finally had a shot at this old cow buffalo, mr Brendan made a good lung shot with his .416 Rigby using 400gr Barnes TSX we are hunting the way it’s meant to be.

We had good fun with filming this entire hunt and we can’t wait for the final product, thank you guys.

What a hunt its been, hunting these old bulls on foot the right way. Uncle Neil this was a well deserved bull a proper Lowveld Dagga boy.

After Uncle gave this bull two shots with his .458 win using Woodleigh softs this bull disappeared into the thickness, losing daylight we approached the bull gave him another shot and he came straight towards us with a mission, we stopped this bull at 4 steps myself and Uncle Neil standing shoulder to shoulder ended this hunt on a high.

Beautiful Lowveld bull, Uncle Lance made a perfect heart shot putting this bull down within 50 yards. We always put in the hard work for our guests to make sure they have the best experience.
Uncle Lance pushed through the heat, and we had some very hot days in August which is not very common.

The 4th and last bull of the Honiball family hunt, we had one hunting day left and we bumped this group of bulls. So we decided to get on their tracks and take it real slow, after about an hour on their tracks we saw this group is starting to bed down for the afternoon nap.
We stalked in to about 55 yards and watched them for at least 20min, we saw our bull and Mr Honiball gave him a good hard shoulder shot and a perfect follow up shot that did the trick.

I couldn’t ask for a better way to end this Safari, and for my team behind me I thank you.

Beautiful Male Leopard feeding on our Hyena bait, our hunting areas in the Lowveld of South Africa is just different. We are fortunate to have the rights to hunt on these areas.
