WHO WE ARE

Avoca Travels is an independent, family owned travel company based in Durban, South Africa. Our philosophy is based on our innate love of travel and a burning desire to retain the purpose and passion that led to our founding in 1980. We have always been known for our innovative and inspiring trips and we understand that while everyone’s wanderlust is different, we all share the same curiosity to discover, explore and share new experiences.

We believe that travel should be stimulating and give you an authentic experience of a destination. We want our travellers to savour the amazing diversity of countries and cultures the world over through our fascinating and varied range of worldwide adventures. We are different from most other travel companies as our travel consultants are real travellers. Individuals who are fixated with travel and adventure, not just hard-sell reservation agents.

From our humble beginnings in 1980, Avoca Travels was founded with one sole aim - to provide travellers with exceptional holiday experiences. Today, with more than 38 years of experience in crafting, operating and selling fully inclusive individual and small group tours, Avoca has grown to become one of the most trusted and authentic travel brands in South Africa.

Avoca is run by people who are obsessed with culture and travel and our sales consultants are not the only ones who have seen the world. We use this specialist expertise and knowledge to produce a truly unique range of travel itineraries and tours.

As travellers ourselves we are well aware of the impact that tourism can have and whilst economic gain from tourism is often fundamental to a country, it should never be at the expense of its culture or the environment. The journeys we offer are designed not only to be incredible experiences, but also to have the most positive impact on the places we visit. To meet these objectives, we have forged long-standing relationships with suppliers that share both our joy of adventure and our responsible travel ethos.

MEET OUR SALES TEAM

Sales and Product Development Director: Noor is our dynamic leader whose passion for travel is as strong today as it was when she founded Avoca Travels in 1980.

Sales and Advertising Team Leader: Nazira is a seasoned traveller whose wanderlust has taken her on many amazing adventures to scores of fascinating places.

Senior Corporate Sales and Ticketing Guru: Leshana joined the Team in 2002. An avid cruise and beach fan, she has a wealth of experience travelling the world.
