The photo of this impressive elephant bull, harvested by a dedicated Motshwere Safaris client in our area, has been circulating across social media, and it has been used by outfitters without permission or acknowledgment. This client invested three intense weeks in camp, pursuing the ethical hunt of a mature, older bull in an area with high elephant populations. Conservation efforts encourage the responsible management of these incredible animals.
At Motshwere Safaris, we are committed to ethical hunting practices. Harvesting mature bulls, especially in areas where their population has exceeded the environment’s capacity, is essential for maintaining ecological balance. Moreover, the benefits of such a hunt go beyond the hunter's experience; the meat from a single elephant provides a crucial source of protein for hundreds of local families, and significantly impacts their lives.

These are three incredible trophy elephant bulls, harvested this year by Motshwere Safaris & Outfitters' clients in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Witnessing such majestic animals is always a privilege. 🐘

Elephant hunting is far more than just pulling the trigger. It’s a challenging and demanding experience, but ultimately rewarding. What stands out most is seeing how the meat is shared with local communities—often providing their primary source of protein for the entire year.

These bulls were all mature, old elephants, highlighting a key fact: hunting, when done sustainably, plays a crucial role in conservation. It supports wildlife management, community welfare, and helps maintain the balance of ecosystems.
