This weekend, our wildlife highlight reel is all about big cat mayhem! The Klaserie camps spotted a fat, full-bellied leopard on a warthog kill hiding out in the long grasses. This week's highlight that stole the show was the cat vs cat event at Umkumbe Safari Lodge Riverside. A leopard and cheetah had a bit of a stare down...and then the leopard began the chase. Predator action alert! Winter season is fast approaching, which means we're seeing more and more wildlife congregating around waterholes - and a host of predator activity.
Nyala Safari Lodge took centre stage with their incredible sightings of a leopard in a tree, ellies and cheetah sighting.
At nThambo, there was a great sighting of hyena and cubs; and the elusive African wild dogs.
As per usual, Umkumbe delivered a fantastic leopard sighting, while Chacma enjoyed sightings of ellies and lions. That's a wrap for this week...AND what a week it was!

This is what to expect from a mokoro activity
Going on a mokoro should be top of the list when you embark on an Okavango Delta safari. While gliding through the channels by an expert poler, you're bound to see a wealth of wildlife congregating on the banks. The mokoro is a low-lying canoe-type vessel that's typically used as a mode of transport for locals. The experience is really immersive! These raptors are the first to migrate to the Kruger during the summer - first in line gets all the prey!
Yellow-billed kits fly north towards central and east Africa when the last of the rains arrive, which is usually at the end of March. These graceful birds of prey are found in diverse habitats, ranging from wetlands to savannah and woodlands.
Protective and powerful, this kite was spotted at the waterhole in front of Chacma Bush Camp.
A great sighting for ALL birders out there!

WOW! Guest Alex Freire sent through this amazing clip of elephants congregating around the splash pool in front of camp. He was only a few metres away from these jostling giants - what a moment, what a sighting. The ellie herds are regulars at nThambo, and frequently huddle around the small pool to soak up the water.

Guests Exploring the Klaserie on Foot
Africa on Foot's morning bush walks add a different dimension to the safari experience.
