Our Story - Blue Dot Travel and Car Hire

Established in 2001, African Welcome developed partnerships with key industry leaders locally to offer car rental to the inbound market.

In 2010 Charlene Scholtz, one of their employees whom had extensive experience and knowledge within the industry was given the opportunity to take over the business. Charlene successfully guided the business through the transition and has continued to run and grow the company.

African Welcome became Blue Dot Travel and Car Hire in 2014 when Charlene teamed up with well-established tour guide and travel enthusiast, Deon Alexander. Deon with nearly two decades of experience as a tour guide now specializes in creating carefully crafted guided tours throughout the Western Cape, Winelands and Garden Route.
