Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro for a Cause! 🏔️✨
In a display of determination and global unity, the Kili8 Team – an ensemble of SITE members from diverse corners of the world – recently conquered Africa’s highest peak, raising in excess of US$10 000 to support underprivileged children in Tanzania.
The climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, facilitated by us, was arranged to raise vital funds for the the Moshikidscentre just outside Mount Kilimanjaro National Park.
Providing education, healthcare and support services through a voluntourism model, the centre has positively improved the lives of more than 800 underprivileged children.
“We were honoured to be involved with making this trip a reality for our fellow SITE colleagues,” said Mike Waller, CEO of Dragonfly Africa. “The impact of their fundraising efforts cannot be overstated, and their journey serves as a reminder of the profound impact that can be achieved when individuals come together in pursuit of a common goal.”

Like her sister, GOLD Restaurant, SPYCED is certain to become an icon of the Cape Town culinary scene!
The concept for SPYCED was borne out of our love for experiential restaurants that tell a story. GOLD Restaurant tells our African story, and our new restaurant that will be based in the Silo District in the Waterfront, SPYCED, will tell the story of the discovery of the spice route around the Cape and the impact that this had on our food and our culture. We will feature Cape Malay culture and cuisine, offer interactive cooking classes during the day with light lunches, and pump it up at night with a spice infused set menu and live entertainment. SPYCED will open in August 2024.

Green fingers and happy hearts in the mother city
Earlier this year, we hosted an incentive group whose visit wasn't just about admiring our iconic mountain but also about giving back to the underprivileged youth of Cape Town.
Four schools became the canvas for our acts of kindness, each visited by a different group with a unique mission. At Ysterplaat Primary, our team painted vibrant hues onto planter boxes and even crafted a whimsical bug hotel. Over at St. Joseph's School, we took on the task of composting, refurbishing planter boxes, and ensuring accessibility by elevating them for wheelchair users.
At Lotus High School and Thembani Primary, our efforts revitalized gardens through planter box refurbishments, composting, fresh coats of paint on walls, and the introduction of vibrant flora to brighten up the surroundings.
With every stroke of paint and every seed planted, our collective goal was to leave behind a legacy of flourishing gardens, providing students with the opportunity to nurture and harvest fresh produce for all to enjoy.
We are grateful for the privilege of working with clients who have the vision to turn CSR dreams into a reality 🌱💫

My Stay at Cape Grace
"The Cape Grace has undergone a massive refurbishment, and they organized a soft opening, so I was invited to stay the night.
The building from the outside does not look any different, but as soon as you walk into the reception area, you can see the changes they have made. It's much lighter, and the colour palette includes a lot of whites, creams, and teals. It is a very nice, refreshed look.
The staff were great with check-in. I stayed in a beautiful suite that overlooked the marina, and the beds and linens are of really great quality and super comfortable. The rooms also have a much lighter feel compared to how they were before, and overall, it is looking very good.
Their breakfast is also spectacular and includes a great variety of options to choose from. Something to note is that they do offer a few options for boost juices, which I found was a nice touch.
It certainly is going to be one of the nicest hotels in the city."

Thys is responsible for setting up the Singita Community Culinary School (SCCS) in Rwanda and has been mentoring young students for many years.

Just over a week ago our team were living our best lives at our Sales retreat in the magnificent Zambia and Zimbabwe. We started off every day on the right note with morning yoga and spectacular views. Discovered many exciting, new and luxurious properties in these areas. We got to give back at Simoonga Thandizani Trust School, had an exhilarating view of the Falls on a microlitre and helicopter and cruised into the Zambezi sunset on a river boat. Yolanda recently had lunch at the elephant cafe (Ellie Café) in Livingstone Zambia. What an incredible experience! Arriving by jet boat was definitely the way to go!
