1. Hand / eye co-ordination - Using Surf’s Up Fun Foam will
teach a child hand / eye co-ordination. They will spend an
extensive amount of happy playtime trying to capture sea
creatures off the bottom of the bath. In addition to the challenge
of getting their little fingers onto the creatures, they also have to
adjust for water refraction. Just think, moms pay OTs a fortune
to do exactly this!
2. Fine motor development - Picking up creatures in Surfs Up
Fun Foam can be a great help when it comes to fine motor
development. The great thing about this is that they are rewarded
for their efforts by the results… a handful of sea creatures.
3. Crossing the midline - Many children have a great deal of trouble
with this area of their development. They are able to do things on the . right of their bodies with their right hand and vice versa. However,
they battle to get their right hand over to the left side of their bodies
and vice versa. Using the KaleidoFoam to draw figure-of-8 patterns
on the side of the bath can address and solve this problem.
4. Body awareness - This is a big part of a child’s development. Children need to know where their head, toe, leg etc is situated on
their bodies. All of the products can be used to help children learn
about their bodies. You could say… “Let’s put some blue KaleidoFoam
on your knee and some yellow KaleidoFoam on your ear”. Again, you
are using fun and play to help with the child’s development.
5. Tactile defensiveness - Some children are tactile defensive. This means that if they dislike the feel of a product they will avoid
