They are really just a toasted sandwiches cooked over an open fire.. but for some reason, they are pretty unbeatable! Fill them with the basics - cheese, tomato, onions and mayo - or fill them with leftover potjiekos to take them to the next level!

Grill them over the fire and enjoy and delicious braai tradition and one of the simplest joys of life!

Established in 1950, Kafue is Zambia’s oldest national park. It is the second largest wildlife sanctuary in the world, spanning 22,400 square kilometres of spectacular African wilderness.

Have you heard of the KAZA area? 🇦🇴🇧🇼🇳🇦🇿🇼🇿🇲

The Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (TFCA) gets its name from the Okavango and Zambezi River basins that lie at its heart. But KAZA as a whole encompasses landscapes across five countries: Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

What is magic about traversing this area, is seeing how these landscapes are interconnected. KAZA extends across five countries and offers incredible overlanding and game viewing opportunities.

The bucket list self-drive stops in the KAZA area include:

Meet Kari Louw, The Ultimate Routes Team Liaison!

"I joined the Ultimate Routes team just over a year ago and I am loving it!

I get to 'meet' each client, enjoy the thrill of watching their route design come together; get excited with them as their trip starts to become a reality and bookings are made; and then have the privilege of welcoming them home! Just love the tales shared with us as a team, about memories made in Africa....such a privilege.

I grew up in Zululand, and the Drakensberg was my most favorite holiday spot. We moved to the Cape about 30 years ago now, and I now have the privilege of sometimes joining my husband as he shoots some of the most spectacular accommodation that is on offer in and around the Western Cape.

Besides 2 trips abroad, and travels within South Africa, I haven't as yet ventured across the border to Northern Africa...which has fast moved to the top of my bucket list!

Our family are mostly all grownups now and have left the nest so to speak... well, all but the baby of the family. My most favorite weekly activity has fast become a late Sunday lunch where all and sundry venture home for a fun filled chaotic feast.... a mum's treat!

African born and bred, I look forward to the many years of travel we as a family still have ahead of us in this stunning country we call home."
