COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICER WANTED
GREENBUSHES, GQEBERHA
REFERENCE NUMBER: 535824CLOGR
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a permanent resident within the defined Local Communities and be able to provide evidence of same
Grade 12 (Matric) or other related qualification for example: HR / Community Development
/Public Administration Qualification or Degree
Relevant work experience, for example teacher, community leader, facilitator, mentor, etc.
Experience in Community Development, working with Community Forums, Organizing Community Meetings
Above average Computer Literacy Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Emails)
Excellent report writing, communication and administrative skills (English, Afrikaans and Xhosa)
The ability to communicate, read and write in English and Afrikaans is essential
A valid drivers’ license

RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend community meetings arranged by other parties
Arrange quarterly community meetings on behalf of the EPC.
This will include the placing of adverts, arranging venues, ensuring the appropriate speakers and stakeholders are advise timeously and present at the meetings
Keep record of attendance registers
Provide minutes of each meeting to all stakeholders
Communicate with identified Stakeholders on a regular basis to address any issues arising, particularly ward committees and community development workers, other community-based forums, etc.

Liaise with the Economic Development Administrators to the projects
Refer to a database of local resources should one exist, or create a database should one not exist
Keep the contractor aware of community affairs and possible dynamics
Weekly reports to the Project Manager with respect to matters arising within the local community
