We have been absent from socials the last few weeks BUT are excited to share some beautiful locations we have visited recently.

We recently did our first trip to Kenya, exploring an area in eastern Laikipia, just north of Mt. Kenya, an area known for its wilderness and wildlife.

Exploring this area on foot, a walking safari allows guests to enjoy an intimate glimpse into Kenya's animals and people.

The kind of the ... Black-maned lions are a unique subspecies known for their dark, flowing manes. These mane colors can range from a deep black to a dark reddish-brown. The mane serves both a practical and symbolic purpose. In terms of practicality, the mane helps protect the lion's neck during fights with other males, providing a crucial layer of defense. Symbolically, a dark, full mane is often associated with strength, dominance, and reproductive fitness in the lion world. This feature is especially prominent in the Kgalagadi region of southern Africa, where these majestic lions proudly roam the savannas.

We are all about conservation … and recently we took our guest to Zululand and to partake in a lion darting project. The Somkhanda conservation team successfully collected 2 lions. These collars will make it possible to monitor the lions in the deep Zululand wilderness.
