In the last 2 months, over 150 "Jars of Joy" have been donated across South Africa. This project started by collecting empty jam, coffee, and mayo jars - filling it with soup mix, and distributing them along the tour routes of our travel partners, but we soon realise we needed much more jars than we could collect. We now also have plant-based bio"plastic" bottles we can use as joy-jars :)
These jars of goodness (containing a hearty soup mix or sweet treats) are donated to community projects and charities along our tour routes, and the charities we support help us distribute them to those in need. A special thanks to the Ubuntu Youth Club at Prรณjekt Ubuntu Community Projects, the Cherished - Community Support Program, J-bay Recycling Project, our tour guides and travellers for helping us get the jars to the community.
Shout out to all our local supporters, resellers, booking agents and suppliers who helped us collect the empty jars, and donate towards this project. Your empty jars are still needed, but we'll just supplement the batch with our bioplastic bottles when required.
