Magoebaskloof Birders' Cottage Small farm with three self catering cottages hidden in the cool Magoebaskloof valley. All cottages have WIFI. The cottages are accessed by a 2 km dirt road.

Magoebaskloof Birders’ Cottages are located on Dragonwyck Farm in the Magoebaskloof on the edge of the Limpopo Drakensberg escarpment. Accommodation comprises three self-catering cottages surrounded by indigenous plants providing the ideal habitat for many birds and animals. The road is not suitable for very low profile cars or drivers who are unaccustomed to dirt roads. TROGON COTTAGE features on

e bedroom furnished with a double bed. The bathroom has a large double bath with a view of the forest. There is a separate shower. Another large double bath is hidden outside in the garden. Electric geyser supplies hot water. NARINA COTTAGE features one bedroom with a queen size bed that can be changed into two single beds if required. It has an outside bath and a shower inside. ROBIN COTTAGE is a two bedroom unit. The main bedroom has a bath, shower and toilet tucked into a very private garden outside. There is a shower and toilet inside as well. The second bedroom has a double bed on the mezzanine level and two single beds on the lower floor. Hot water is supplied by an electric geyser. Linen and towels are provided in all three cottages and each unit has a fully equiped kitchen with a gas hob and electric oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, and braai facilities. The cottages are no-smoking zones and smokers are kindly requested to smoke outside. Unfortunately no pets are allowed. Dragonwyck Farm is a working farm producing avocados and indigenous plants. Various walks can be enjoyed on the farm which follow the streams and provide access to escarpment forest. Woodbush Forest, one of the premier birding spots in South Africa, is also a short drive away and there are a number of scenic drives in the district for excellent bird watching opportunities. Fishing and adventure activities are available in the Haenertsburg area.

This is a picture of a spider, likely an Argiope, commonly known as a St Andrew's Cross spider. These spiders are found in South Africa and are known for their distinctive webs with zigzag patterns.

The spider is on a bird netting "screen" we use to prevent bird strikes on our sliding doors.
