All our routes have been carefully thought out by cyclists who have had years of experience in the industry. We also combine the Midlands Meander in the KwaZulu Natal with some hiking in the world famous Drakensberg. 2024 started with a BANG! 💥

Dinokeng Game Reserve, just 40min from Pretoria, was the start of our 2024 bush adventures! We are looking forward to our new partnership with Kwalata Game Lodge in 2024.

We will be offering, in partnership with Kwalata Game Lodge, some amazing Big 5 rides as well as cultural riding tours with a twist.

Botswana and Central Tuli remains one of the most beautiful areas to ride a bike in. Our team had a great trip with guests from Koro Island Camp, one of our Botswana concession partners. Was great to see the abundance of wildlife still around in the dry conditions as well as great sightings of elephant and wild dogs. Looking forward to many more adventures as well as some exciting news things coming in 2024 in Tuli.

Time to meet the team!

Lachenicht , our local jack of all trades. Matt has been running around the bush since he can remember and his passion for the bush has taken him, and his wife, on many life changing adventures.

Being a qualified guide, having a BSc in Conservation Ecology, ex-professional MTB team mechanic and many years of experience in running lodges from Limpopo to the Delta in Botswana, Matt knows just how to make each tour one to never forget!

Kylié Henn Murray is one of a kind. She not only can ride a bike but has many years of experience in the tourism industry.

Kylie has a deep passion for community work and whether we out and about in KZN, Limpopo or Botswana's Tuli Block riding our bikes, she always has an eye for how to uplift and enrich the lives of the community members. She also heads up the incredible cause, TAHS-SA (Community Home-Stays South Africa) as well being an integral part of our Outland Escape team.

Time to meet the team!

Jared Cave´, a born and bred Jozy boy. Jared has been in the cycling industry and riding for 25+ years, a previous bike shop owner and XC rider. He has all the skills needed to tailwhip over those lazy puff adders often encountered on those wilderness single tracks.

Jared is a budding ornithologist and having a degree in Environmental Science, being a qualified guide and just a lekker guy, this is one guy you want leading you around the Southern African wilderness by bike.

Guiding guests through remote wilderness areas between the Big 5 is one thing, being prepared for anything is a totally different story.

Huge shout out to the guys from .co.za for making these custom Outland Escape Tube Straps to carry all the on-bike spares. They also made perfect gifts for all our clients. Most importantly, the perfectly sized Handlebar Rolls for the guides to carry all the essentials to complete another top class tour, hassle free. 👌👌

Even though we have had interesting weather in South Africa, our Cycling adventures are still hot and happening!!! Having so much fun with our international guests from Abenteuerreisen.ch ! Big 5 cycling combined with majestic nature and the all famous South African Safari, BUT.... on a Bike!

Luckily all our guides are master bush mechanics and carry everything needed to fix your bike and even possibly a Land Rover that is most likely to breakdown in the Botswana wilderness.. quick fix, then back on the adventure

THANDULWAZI - RIDE FOR EDUCATION The Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy has embarked on a partnership with Abelana Game Reserve, Escape Cycle Tours, and Old Stithian Association to raise money for the Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy through a weekend aimed at Mountainbikers in our Saints Community and amongst our friends and family. During the Spring and Autumn months, cyclists arrive to enjoy our blend of culinary enjoyment but primarily to conquer the mighty Swartberg Pass - seemingly a mecca for many iterations of cyclist.
