Wild dogs have complex hierarchies in which only the alpha male and female breed.
Wild dogs give birth underground, often in abandoned aardvark burrows.
Pups are born blind, usually between March and June.
The pack regurgitates food for the young, but this action is also extended to adults, to the point of being the bedrock of African wild dogs’ social life.

The baobab tree is sometimes called the "upsidedown tree".
The African tribes believe that the baobab tree once grew upright.
It considered itself to be better than all the other trees, the gods decided to teach it a lesson.
To stop its boasting, the gods uprooted it and planted the tree upside down to teach it humility.

World Wildlife Conservation Day
World Wildlife Conservation Day is an occasion to be aware, reflect, and take action,
on issues that are threatening the planet’s wildlife biodiversity balance.
Annually, countless wildlife species fall victim to slaughter driven by human greed,
traded illegally to various locations, and confined in deplorable conditions.

Magical Sunsets
For anyone who has been to Africa, you will know that the sunsets here are spectacular. This is due, in part, to the large amount of dust in the atmosphere which helps to refract light from the sun and paint the sky in those brilliant orange, reds and yellows.

It is twice the height of North America’s Niagara Falls, and is only rivalled by Iguazu Falls in South America.
It is 108m tall and 1708m wide.
