Up and at em time to get walking

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to two real life heroes who have taken it upon themselves to walk 150 km in their backyards with a 18 kg backpack on their shoulders - All in the spirit of raising money for the community that surrounds Hoedspruit and the Kruger National Park.

Those bearded Heroes are Kruger Park Trails guides, and leading men in the Safari Industry.

Bruce Lawson has walked more than 19'630 hours in Big 5 wilderness areas and has completed an epic and unsupported walk from Cape to Cairo in 1997/98. He says in Hoedspruit.

Sean Pattrick has been in the Safari industry for more than 20 years and is involved in training of anti poaching units and is a specialist in men tracking.

As we all know Covid-19 has a massive negative impact on the tourist industry and all people working for and in it. Especially the people in the communities are facing massive challenges.

Bruce and Sean are walking 50 km a day to raise funds for the Hlokomela Herb Garden Initiative in Hoedspruit.

Hlokomela encourages and provides local farmers in the communities with gardening knowhow and seedlings or seeds to organically grow vegetables, herbs and fruits. These are then bought back from Hlokomela and distributed to the many lodges, guesthouses and restaurants in our area. Now that all the lodges are closed, this chain is suddenly interrupted, as none is in need of their produce.

With possible donations Hlokomela will distribute a basket with wholesome food items - grown by local farmers - to families in need in the surrounding areas and at the same time the farmers don't loose their income & job.

We would be extremely grateful and exited if you would make the bearded heroes last day tomorrow so much more worth their while by contacting them - if you know them - and raise more awareness for this amazing cause.

If you have the possibility to donate something towards this awesome cause, we would be over the moon.
