Glassing some big valleys below us we spotted a kudu bull over 1000 yards out, putting the scope on him showed he was definitely a bull worth pursuing! With a huge valley between us it would have taken us hours to get around, we quickly discussed a game plan and headed back to the truck, from there we drove all the way around the mountain and came around from behind the kudu bull and his cows!
We stopped about 600yards out way above the kudu and slowly started our stalk down the mountain, coming over the ridge they were about 200yards right of where we had last seen them!
A quick stalk, and belly crawl we got set up on the ledge above them, waiting for the bull to present himself a few cows caught our wind and spooked, the bull turned and ran a short distance before stopping to see what the fuss was about, Sarah put in a brilliant shot through the shoulders at around 200 yards! The bull managed about 60 yards before going down!

What an exciting hunt and a beautiful trophy!🏆

After we got Sarah her springbuck Brett decided he would try his luck, we got busted a good few times before this ram gave us an opportunity at just over 200yards and Brett pulled off a great shot securing himself our national animal the Springbuck!🏆

Next up was Brett behind the rifle! The terrain these animals generally tend to prefer is not always the best for stalking, having bumped a few groups we got onto this proper ram and kept on him, eventually closing the distance to about 280yards, Brett got up on the sticks and made a perfect shot with the trusty old 30-06!

While we were out after gemsbuck on the first morning I had noticed a few seriously big blesbuck, after lunch I said to Brett and Sarah I thought it was worth us going back to the area and see what we could find! We looked over a lot of rams, when we saw this one we knew he was what we were after, closing the distance to about 380yards Sarah put in a shot that was a little far back with the trusty old 30-06, we followed up and finish him off! This ram measured 18 5/8” a true brute! 🍀

First timers to Africa Brett and Sarah started off their first day after plains game in the Freestate province, We had seen an extremely long gemsbuck cow and got after her when we noticed this brute of a bull feeding with the a few others behind a small dry pond, we used the one side as cover and closed the distance, Sarah got up on the sticks and managed to place a bullet right through the bull’s shoulders dropping him where he stood! The start to an awesome safari🔥

Out looking for kudu with Jake and Mac we spotted this old bull, I quickly summed him up and offered him to Mac at a reduced price, although a beautiful old bull he didn’t measure and I could see that! A quick “yes let’s try hunt him” from Mac and we were after him, after short stalk with him amongst a herd of kudu cows and Mac made a perfect shot with my 30-06! This is a perfect bull to take out past his prime and not great genetics! He will be appreciated on the wall in Florida for many years to come!

While on the subject of big pigs here is another brute of a warthog Mac shot with us!🏆
We spotted this old boy following a female coming in our direction from a long way out, we moved a little closer and got set up on the side of a small rocky hill, the two pigs moved closer and closer until the boar finally stood still and Mac put in a great shot! You simply cannot turn these old pigs down!🍀

On the second day we were hunting we spotted this old warthog boar feeding in an area at the foothills of some mountain, we tried to get a shot but just couldn’t get it done with the strong winds! On the second to last day we again found this old pig and Mac made a fantastic shot on him!🍀 A big pig is something you simply don’t turn down when on safari!

Jake with a big old male baboon! While out glassing for Gemsbuck we spotted a group of baboons and they hadn’t seen us, we got set up and I made a small noise to stop the big male, he immediately saw us and ran but unlucky for him he decided to climb a tree to get a better look and Jake put the trusty old 30-06 bullet right where it needed to be!

When the opportunity arises you cannot turn down a big male baboon!

Sitting in Jake and Mac’s house in Florida last year Jake and I started planning the engagement! Throwing lots of different ideas around Jake was set on what he wanted, we just had to find the right place, and I think we pulled it off!
Mac none the wiser drove with us while out “hunting” to the top of the hill where and I had strategically places the “will you marry me” sign down below, we got to the point and started glassing, it must have taken Mac 2 minutes to finally read the sign and I don’t think she believed what it said for another 2 minutes 😂!
After some celebrations we headed back to the lodge, got freshened up and we were then spoilt with a massive sea food platter!

After Jake and I got bust trying to walk and stalk red hartebeest with the bow, we spotted a herd of Zebra and Mac was up, we stalked through the eroded areas to get into shooting distance, they slowly moved from our right to left, the stallion eventually came out from behind some brush and Mac made a perfect shot on him!🍀 watch the full video on our YouTube Channel!🔥

Elephant number 2 in the salt! Following tracks with the wind on our necks we decided to do a big loop and try get out infront of the bulls which were feeding in a steady direction, once we were pretty certain we would be in front of them we slowly worked our way into the wind, we hadn’t gone a hundred yards when we heard the first sticks breaking of the feeding elephants, slowly approaching the noise we spotted a younger bull feeding but by the tracks we knew there was a bigger bull, we slowly approached the second bull in the thick mopane bush, a short glimpse and we knew this was the bull we were after, we slowly approached, the bull fed towards us until he eventually noticed us and walked out to see what we were, a good frontal shot followed by a few assurance shots and it was all over!

Another beautiful old kudu bull we spotted recently! Hunting these bulls on free range cattle ranches is an experience like no other! Walking up to a downed bull after an exciting stalk and a successful shot is a feeling you simply cannot explain! 🍀

The first of 2 elephant bulls we hunted in Limpopo this year, this bull we stalked into less than 15 yards of, he eventually saw us and wheeled around to get a better look and the hunter pulled off a great frontal brain shot dropping the bull in his tracks! Hunting with Wild Africa Productions!

Sometimes not everything goes as planned! This pig came running out of a bush at full speed while tracking blood of a wounded pig with the dogs, thinking it was the wounded pig we got a shot into it dropping it in its tracks, high fives all around until we got up to it and realised it was in fact another warthog and not the wounded one and it was also still well alive!

BIG Kudu in BIG FREERANGE AREAS? We got them!🏆 Beautiful bull we spotted while doing some scouting recently🍀

Free Range Hunting

As free range as free range gets! We regularly see giant kudu bulls in the corn lands when out hunting night critters, here is one I filmed with my thermal scope 🔥🏆

Free Range bushbuck! “Royal Game” in our eyes! We have some of the best areas available to hunt these sly, cunning little animals!🍀

Wounded impala

Hunts don’t always go as planned and there are those times when the PH is asked to finish the animals off for the hunter if he gets a chance! Here PH @the_prohunter managed to get this wounded impala ram in the rain, with the possibility of not finding him with the rain washing tracks away quick decisions were made and Harry managed to finish it with a quick offhand shot at this nice old impala ram!

A lot of people have the idea that South Africa is all behind wire! This is completely untrue! Here is a herd of completely free range eland on a cattle farm in KwaZulu-Natal 👌🏻 If you wanting to hunt free range animals in South Africa get in touch with us!

Our good friend Mike after another Zebra with us! With a few zebra rug orders from back home 🇺🇸 Mike took full advantage of the abundance of Zebra, after a stalk between the acacia’s we managed to close the distance giving us a quick opportunity for a shot and Mike pulled it off perfectly!
