September 2023, completed one of the most complex tours we've been tasked to host. 3 countries, 5 airports, 5 days, 9 travellers that split into 2 groups, an intense minute by minute itinerary. This tour covered Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. We were tasked to arrange almost everything, including airport transfers, local flights, accommodation, activities, and border crossings. Lusaka to Livingstone!
Do you need to travel from Lusaka to Livingstone /Vic Falls Town or Livingstone/Vic Falls Town to Lusaka? I offer private transfers by appointment and cater for individuals, families and small groups. Each trip is customised to suit you. We travel at an easy-going pace, taking regular breaks to stretch our legs, have refreshments and have toilet breaks. I handle all the logistics of the journey while you take in views of the countryside.

Highlights
We use a modern comfortable private vehicle, the exact model will depend on the quantity of luggage you have and the number of passengers in your team. Options are a Nissan sedan, a Toyota sedan, a Toyota 4x4, and a Toyota family bus.
Whichever vehicle option we use, it will have air conditioning and a sound system so we can sing along to our favourite songs. We will have bottled water and light snacks with us as we travel.

Itinerary
07.30 I collect you from your lodgings and our journey begins. We use the Great North Road, also known as the Livingstone Road. We travel at an easygoing pace and with safety as the priority. As we go along, I will point out places of interest and we will make stops for toilet, refreshments, and to stretch legs.
13.30 We arrive at your destination in time for drop-offs and the end of the tour :-(

Lunch is served...March 2023. On a 2 day tour to Lower Zambezi from Lusaka, one of the highlights was a picnic lunch in the bush, at a remote spot overlooking a lagoon occupied by hippos, crocs and all manner of fish.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Both my grandfathers (my dad's dad and my mom's dad) were fairly adventurous in their younger years. Funny enough, both were methodists and both were educationists. They were willing to take the challenge of travelling, facing the unknown and settling in new areas.

As you can imagine, travelling through Africa all those years ago was no easy task. In my paternal grandfathers case, he was an education officer in the colonial government, and one of his responsibilities was to inspect schools in rural areas, travelling with a driver in a trusty old Land Rover.

When he had chance, he would take my dad and his siblings (mostly when they were on school holiday) along for a ride. Using bush tracks, they trundled from school to school, village to village, across rivers, mountains, savannas, and forests. I remember being told stories about their encounters with wild animals, and having to push the Landy out of mudholes or up steep hills. In the attached picture is my paternal grandfather (from whom I got my name Nathan) and his trusty Land Rover that took him all over what is now Northern Zambia. Those trips were the original Nate's African Expeditions! :-) Look out for an upcoming post about my mom's dad.

How do we get around?
We travel by comfortable vehicles (the exact type will depend on the
tour and number of passengers). The type of car will be agreed on before the
tour starts. We use city cars or sedans or off road 4x4s or mini buses. The cars come
with air conditioning and sound system so we can sing along as we go! On some activities in parks and reserves, we will use safari vehicles. While on river or lake cruises, we will use boats operated by experienced coxswain.

LOWER ZAMBEZI DAY TRIP FROM LUSAKA
This private full day tour takes us to Chiawa GMA, Lower Zambezi. Just a 3 hour drive south of Lusaka, we leave early morning, and spend the day here. We spend half a day on a river safari, exploring the majestic Zambezi River it's waterways, islands and the wildlife in and around the river. We have a picnic lunch on a sandbank or island. We return to Lusaka in the early evening. Canoeing, fishing and visits to a bat
cave are other activity options here (at extra cost).

This tour costs usd300/kwacha5500 for a group of not more than 3 and this cost
includes private transportation and activity fee for the river safari. Larger groups can be catered for at extra cost. Picnic lunch costs extra at usd25 per person. It excludes personal purchases, drinks/beverages, extra activities.

This private full day tour takes us on a 3 hour drive south of Lusaka to Lake Kariba. We spend the day touring the dam wall, the beach, and take an afternoon cocktail cruise during which we explore the lake, it’s islands and fishing villages. We leave Lusaka early morning, returning early evening.

More about me

Born and bred in Lusaka, Zambia, to a Zambian father
and Zimbabwean mother, I was lucky to be exposed to
multiple cultures from a young age. My parents would
travel constantly between the 2 countries, and more often
than not, us kids would tag along. On top of that, my folks
were avid and open minded travellers that would now and
again take trips to discover new places. And it was not just
by car….train plane boat…all were fair game!! The end
result was that, my siblings and I grew up broad minded
and desirous to learn more about the world. My folks
inculcated into us an entrepreneurial spirit and enquiring
minds, teaching us to look outside the box. All this been
ever so useful in our adult years. I love travelling. I love
