The boss of Frankfurt Airport in Germany has blamed the chaos at airports on black suitcases, the Guardian reported on Friday, citing German media.

Stefan Schulte, the head of Frankfurt Airport, advised passengers to hand carry their belongings when possible and to use suitcases that are easy to spot. Black suitcases are so common, it’s “hard to distinguish them from each other,” he said, per the Guardian.

“Many people travel with black suitcases on wheels which makes identifying them very time-intensive,” added Thomas Kirner, a Frankfurt Airport spokesperson, per the Guardian.

Frankfurt Airport slashed 4,000 jobs during the pandemic and is struggling to cope with a surge in air passenger demand as restrictions ease. It has only managed to rehire 1,000 new ground service staff so far, Reuters reported on July 6.

Due to staff shortages, disruptions at Frankfurt Airport were expected to persist for the next two to three months, Schulte said in early July, per Reuters. Just last week, there were some 2,000 suitcases stranded at the Frankfurt Airport, according to Bild.

The aviation sector is dealing with a messy summer travel season with flight delays, lost bags, and chaos across the industry — and particularly in Europe — as demand has returned to pre-pandemic levels. Issues faced by airlines include staff shortages and bad weather.

Industry participants have been blaming one another for the chaos

*17 died in the Bahamas after a boat believed to be carrying Haitian migrants capsized*
At least 17 people have died after a boat capsized shortly after midnight on Sunday in the Bahamas. Authorities said the boat was likely transporting Haitian migrants during a suspected human smuggling operation bound for the United States.
An investigation into the incident is still underway, but authorities said during a press conference that between 50 and 60 people were in the boat when it capsized approximately 7 miles off the coast of New Providence island.

Officials recovered the bodies of 16 females, including a child believed to be 4 or 5 years old, and one male. Authorities said they were able to rescue 25 people from the water. Between eight to 12 people are believed to be missing.

Three individuals who were rescued are still being treated at a local hospital after the near-drowning incident, according to Bahamian Acting Minister of Health Ryan Pinder, who also serves as the attorney general.

Bahamas Prime Minister Phillip Davis told reporters that the preliminary investigation suggests two Bahamian citizens were attempting to smuggle Haitian refugees into Miami, Fla.

"What happened this morning was not an entry to the Bahamas, but rather an exit from the Bahamas, with emigrants who were already here," Davis said. "How they got here, we're not quite sure, as the investigation is still continuing."

Canada: Global AIDS conference kicks off amid fury over visas
Canada is hosting this year's International AIDS Conference. The event has been billed as a chance for "the world to come together." However, visa issues are causing frustration for would-be attendees from Africa. Organizers fear that hundreds of other delegates from Africa, Asia and South America are still waiting for, or have already been denied, visitor visas.

The situation has been turning into a scandal. The AIDS 2022 conference, organized by the International AIDS Society (IAS), had been billed as a chance to "call the world to come together to reengage and follow the science."

But a day before the event was set to begin, the International AIDS Society (IAS) released a statement saying it was "deeply concerned by the high number of denied and pending visas by Canadian authorities."

"This is preventing many people from some of the countries most affected by HIV from entering Canada and attending AIDS 2022, including IAS staff and leadership."

Germany’s Lufthansa cancels 2,000 more summer flights

As travel operators in Germany continue to be plagued by staff shortages this summer, Lufthansa has announced that it will scrub an additional 2,000 flights from its July and August schedule.

A spokesperson for the airline told Handelsblatt that the cancellations would affect connections from two of Germany’s largest airports – Frankfurt and Munich – and would mainly impact domestic routes and other short-haul flights to other countries in Europe.

There are “good alternatives” for passengers who want to travel to these destinations, the spokesperson added. Flights to popular holiday destinations will only be cancelled in exceptional cases.

The latest announcement is the third wave of flight cancellations by Lufthansa so far this summer.

The struggling airline initially cancelled around 3,000 flights for the months of July and August and then scrapped another 770 connections for the weeks up to and including Thursday.

The extra 2,000 cancellations have been added over the coming six weeks.

The news comes amid ongoing issues at Germany’s largest airports and airlines, with reports of passengers queuing at security for hours and being unable to collect their luggage on arrival.

The issues date back to the height of the pandemic, when thousands of members of staff were laid off as part of cost-cutting measures. In the Lufthansa Group alone, these layoffs were in the tens of thousands.

The government has since drafted plans to make it easier for the affected businesses to hire temporary workers from abroad, but due to the time it takes to hire and train these additional staff.

6 months, multiple visa

Travelling 05th Aug

*Hotel booking - I only submitted "pay at property" booking type for the whole stay
*fully paid return tickets
*bank statement - I provided 6 months (I didn't have to but I wanted to show that all the money in there has always been in there and never been moved = stable income and saving)
*cover letter - explained that I will be traveling with 2 friends from my origin country but both are living abroad so splitting the cost while we are there together would be our best option.
*travel itinerary - I made a really thorough one. Explained cost of everything throughout the whole duration of stay and how I will split it between me and my friends.
*employment certificate (no objection letter)
*travel insurance for Shenghen countries with minimum cover of 30 grand.

As a lot of people trying to make sense about hotel booking whether it should be fully paid or just a booking confirmation, I would say it depends on your plan and how you explain it in your cover letter+itinerary+bank statement (to show reasonable amount of money for the whole stay).

Don't just encourage everyone that they need to pay for their because yours was rejected or asked for a fully paid one. At the end of the day if you have a reason not to pay your hotel booking in full and its reasonable then they would grant you a visa. If not, they would contact you to ask for additional documents. They wouldn't reject.

TOP 50 BEST TRAVEL DESTINATIONS FOR 2022
Travel and Leisure, a travel magazine based in New York City, recently compiled a list of the best travel destinations for 2022 — and the Finger Lakes region made the cut.

The new year was slated to be a year where people returned to traveling the world after two years of dealing with Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions.

During the shutdowns, many properties in the hospitality industry invested in revocation projects that revamped rooms and outdoor spaces while adding new amenities.

Kenya and South Africa have agreed to merge their national Airlines, thus, the Kenyan Airways (KQ) and the South African Airways (SAA) into a Pan-African one. Kenyatta was talking to Kenyans in a new year message when he made the important announcement.

The president said, “to boost tourism, trade, and social engagement; and to bolster continental integration; our national carrier Kenya Airways will join hands with our partners in South Africa to establish a Pan-African Airline.” The two countries signed the agreement when

Uhuru visited South Africa somewhere in November 2021. According to the arrangement, the partnership will take effect fully in the year 2023. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed earlier by the two airlines covering the exchange of knowledge, expertise, innovation, digital technologies, global best practice among others.

In terms of the tourism promotion aspect, the Kenyan Airways and the South African Airways will make use of the O.R. Tambo International Airport and Jomo Kenyatta International Airports. This will revamp the sector and form a very formidable operation. They both say they will work together for financial viability on mutual terms.

In a joint statement, they two airlines said: “One of the pillars to achieve this is coming together and combining assets to provide a more robust and ultimately competitive aviation ecosystem to pursue the commercial viability of both carriers. The partnership will improve the financial viability of both airlines by creating the most formidable air transport connection in Africa.”

If you have been working for a company for more than 5yrs and you don't have 100k savings ... *You need to think*

If you have been doing a particular hustle for more than 5yrs and nothing to show for it.. *You need to think.*

If you've spent one month at home under Lockdown drawing from your reserves without cash inflows from other sources......
*YOU NEED TO THINK.*

IF You've spent 30 days at home browsing the internet, responding to greetings in Facebook, looking up pictures in Instagram, watching YouTube videos, responding to WhatsApp chats, calling everyone and nobody is calling you.... .
*YOU NEED TO THINK.*

IF you've spent 30 days at home eating delicacies, drinking choice wine, sleeping, watching movies and exercising in your gym without reading a word from any book.....
*YOU NEED TO THINK*

*30 days Lockdown means 720 idle hours.

*720 idle hours translates to 43,200 minutes of idle time.

*8 Man hours worktime per day translates to 240 hours lost time or capacity under utilization or inefficiency index.

Life has given us almost a month to think about ourself and come out with a Grand Strategy and productive plan to stem the tide.

What we are facing now is almost the same thing retirees face when they retire and even worse.

One thing to note for sure is that, at the end of this pandemic, many businesses will suffer severe setbacks and new ones will emerge out of thick skin.

Start-Ups will swallow SMEs, Digital media will bury traditional media, Artificial Intelligence will take out unskilled labour.

Billionaires will feel the heat and new ones will need longer time to emerge.

So, ask yourself, which side will I belong to when this Lockdown is over?

Meanwhile, as we speak, most companies are also typing their own *redundancy* letters to be distributed .

Don't spend your time waiting for *COVID-19* daily statistics and doing all manner of social media challenge.

*SIT AT HOME . LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE, THINK. STRATEGIZE and COME OUT STRONGER
