Bernard Mzeki SHRINE- Marondera

Talk of religious tourism, visit Bernard Mizeki shrine which has become a focus of great devotion for over 30,000 pilgrims are known to make the journey to his shrine along with the Church hierarchy from Zimbabwe and neighbouring countries. The Bernard Mizeki commemorations have become one of the of all Christian festivals in Africa takes place there every year around the feast day that marks the anniversary of his martyrdom, June 18. The shrine reminds us of the conflict between traditional culture & Christian beliefs. Nearby is Bernard Mizeki College which has educated and instilled good qualities of character and leadership in thousands of young men since its foundation in 1959. Today this College stands close to where he lived and the Mangwende's kraal, above the village, is crowned with a large cross to commemorate Bernard Mizeki.

Mashonaland East "The home of the hidden Gems"

Did you know we have Ruins in Mashonaland East

Tsindi Ruins is one of the dry-stone monument in Zimbabwe. Located in Mashonaland East, near Marondera, the ruins cover about 2 hectares and the walls are built into the natural rocks on site and were once occupied by the Nhowe people. The ruins were formerly called Lekkerwater Ruins and the stone walls were taken as a symbol of prestige and authority thus these ruins served a domestic purpose in screening and sheltering groups of clay-walled thatched huts which were the living quarters of a small elite, probably a ruling group. The archaeological evidence identified three stages of occupation at the site each identified by different building methods and pottery types: the Late Early Iron Age Settlements, Later Iron Age settlements, and Late Iron Age religious settlement. Its a must see beauty that almost resembles the Great Zimbabwe Ruins
