On January 24, 2009, UAE residents were stunned as Ras Al Khaimah's Jais Mountains were covered in snow, marking one of the coldest days in the country's history.

Temperatures plunged to -3℃ the previous night, with the snow extending over five kilometers. The Jais Mountain's peak, at 5,700 feet, saw up to 20cm of snow.

The unusual weather, which began with snowfall on January 23, 2025, continued through the night, leaving the area under a thick, dazzling white blanket.
