We had an amazing Easter getaway in Khao Lak, staying at the beautiful JW Marriott Khao Lak. This resort kept us busy with endless activities, but there’s so much more to explore in Khao Lak too.

Although we were all boat tripped out, I wish we could have visited the Similan Islands or the Surin Islands. The waters and snorkeling there are supposed to be incredible, akin to the Maldives or Seychelles!

We visited little amazon and kayaked through the mangroves but you can also do this at Khao Lak Lam Ru National Park, it is a paradise for wildlife watchers and photographers, offering hiking and forest walks.

This area also has a great Turtle reserve the Royal Thai Navy’s Turtle Conservation Centre, rescues turtles from fishing nets and other dangers. If you are interested in animals and conservation this is place you must visit.

There are many amazing waterfalls in the area the beautiful Tong Chong Fa Waterfall in Khao Sok National Park is stunning and features multiple swimming pools perfect for a refreshing dip.

A highlight of our trip was visiting Takua Pa Old Town, once a major trading hub in southern Thailand. Now a cultural gem, its main road transforms into a bustling walking street every Sunday evening, filled with local vendors and delicious food stalls. We visited during the day and still got the opportunity to shop and eat from some of the little shops.
