Here are five new restaurants in Dubai to look out for this summer for travelers and food lovers...
1. Boubouffe
Fans of this Lebanese brasserie will be chuffed to hear it’s expanded into Dubai. The famous Beirut institution serves a menu of classic Lebanese dishes and hot and cold mezzes, as well as soups, sandwiches, Lebanese burgers and more. Our spies say they also serve up special dishes each weekday such as lamb chops with stuffed vine leaves and courgettes on Mondays, or traditional Lebanese moghrabieh on Tuesdays.
Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, daily noon until midnight. Tel: (04) 3943196. Metro: Financial Centre. boubouffe-uae.com
2. Mori Sushi
Don’t expect a typical Japanese restaurant when you dine at Mori Sushi, the new hotspot in Downtown Dubai. Conventional sushi dishes are infused with Latin flavours, which seems only natural since the Mori brand was born in São Paulo, Brazil. We like the sound of the summery scallop salad infused with cherry tomatoes. Look out for our verdict in next month’s issue.
Plaza 2, Downtown Dubai Boulevard, Dubai, daily 11am to midnight. Tel: (04) 5521853. Metro: Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall
3. The Stuffed Burger Co
A new burger joint, which specialises in stuffing its patty with select ingredients, has opened in Jumeirah. Diners can choose from five signature stuffings: three cheese (mozzarella, cheddar and Swiss cheese), pizza burger (pepperoni, mozzarella with marinara sauce), mushroom and Swiss, blue cheese, and roasted tomato and garlic, all packed into a freshly baked potato bun. The menu also offers other staple American dishes. Think charbroiled beef burgers, a veggie-friendly garden burger along with chicken wings, fried jalapeño poppers, a selection of mini sliders and their signature loaded fries topped with cheese and grilled onions.
Jumeirah Beach Road, Jumeirah, Dubai, Sun to Wed 11am to 1am, Thur to Sat 11am to 3am. Tel: (600) 545541. Taxi: between Al Manara Street and Al Thanya Street. thestuffedburgerco.com
