The season opening round of this year’s Red Bull Air Race World Championship takes off over the capital’s Corniche this February.
The world’s fastest motorsport series, the high-flying 2015 RBAR World Championship sees 14 daredevil pilots – including reigning champion Nigel Lamb of Britain – race in high-performance planes 15-25 metres above the ground navigating an Air Gate pylon obstacle course at speeds of up to 370km/h.
With aerial action taking place over the Arabian Gulf’s sparkling blue waters, the race village finds a new home at a purpose built destination area on the Corniche Breakwater. Unrivalled views of the race and the city’s skyline, the arena will be an entertainment focal point for the whole family.
And for those wanting to get up close to the planes, the Corniche’s eight kilometres of pristine beachfront give unrivalled views of all the action.
