🔘 Delta leaves Lyft for Uber and will introduce AI-powered «Concierge» tool
Delta Air Lines will begin a partnership with Uber, under which customers who link their Uber and SkyMiles accounts can earn miles (one mile per dollar spent on UberX rides to and from airports, two miles per dollar on premium rides and three miles per dollar on Uber Reserve rides). The carrier will end its relationship with Lyft, but customers can continue to earn SkyMiles via Lyft rides through April 7, 2025
🔘 U.K. begins ETA requirement for entry for travellers from 54 countries
Travellers now are required to complete an online pre-travel check to enter the U.K. following the continued rollout of the country’s Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme. From Jan. 8, travellers from 48 non-European countries—those who previously did not require a visa for short-stay visits, including the U.S., Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore—will need to apply for an ETA before arriving in the U.K. The requirement will also extend to travellers from European countries from April 2, with applications for these travellers open from March 5

🔘 Finlandia Hall reopened after extensive renovation
Finlandia Hall, one of Finland’s most iconic event venues, reopened on 4 January. For the first time, it will be open daily to Helsinki residents and tourists, offering dining, accommodation, exhibition space, and a design shop. The venue will also feature a permanent Aalto exhibition in June 2025
