🇹🇭🥊 In Thailand, March 17 is designated as National Muay Thai Day. It’s a day when those involved in the sport celebrate the life and times of a man called Nai Khanom Tom who is regarded as the 'Father of Muay Thai'. He was born in Ayutthaya and it is this ancient capital of Thailand which has special meaning for all Muay Thai fighters. Although Muay Thai Day is acknowledged nationwide, it is in Ayutthaya where events have added significance as the birthplace of the legendary Nai Khanom Tom.

In Thailand, March 13 is recognised as National Thai Elephant Day. Established in 1988, National Thai Elephant Day serves as a tribute to the elephant’s historical and cultural importance in Thailand. Some elephant conservation centres mark the occasion by organising Buddhist ceremonies on March 13 to honour and bless the elephants and the 'kwan chang' (mahouts) who care for them. 🐘🇹🇭

a) Love it! 😘
b) Tastes like old socks! 🤢
